“Damn it!” Thea exclaimed as she started to carefully gather the remains of her latest broken controller.

“What, another controller? That’s got to be 10 now. Maybe it’s time for a break?” she heard Dylan suggesting over voice chat. “You need to cool off, or you break the next one the moment you touch it.”

She leaned back in her chair and sighed. Like everything in this world, the chair was a little too small for her.

“Yeah, but I need to kill that stupid dragon in order to progress! And I need to do it before someone else does it for the first kill achievement!”

“Well I think you're gonna be fine, most people still struggle with finishing their normal playthrough right now and don't even touch Level 1 challenge runs?”

“I am not most people” Thea replied and pushed her legs up a little to the underside of her desk. Her PC hardware all shifted slightly. “Whoops, don’t break anything else today Thea” she thought to herself. Her gaming setup started slowly drifting towards her trophy collection before she set it down.

“Yeah most people don’t accidentally break their controllers every time they get nervous or excited, so take a break for now or you won't have enough controllers left to beat this game.” He was right. He was always right.

“Okay, okay. I’m still holding you to our bet - you’re buying me Dinner when I beat this thing”

“When? Don’t you mean if?” Dylan replied cheekily.

“No, I mean when! Be right back!” Thea got up and put down her Headset. She grabbed her bin that was filled with broken controllers and carefully ducked through the door.

She looked down at the collection of broken controller pieces, she clenched her teeth with determination before smiling to herself. It had been her idea, and she knew it was her best chance to break out of the friendzone.
