Hey guys!! 💖

How are you doing?

I'm still not drawing much due to my wrist pain and other stuff happening rn, but here's a single silly spread I managed to do this morning after a while, heh

I've been, however, editing and retouching scans of all my traditional art to make new prints :)

Once I finish editing I usually delete the original scans but this time I thought it would be interesting to show you guys a comparison of the before and after ! I always receive many questions of how I edit them and the truth is, I just paint over them with a hard round brush, nothing else. Sometimes I move some parts with the lasso tool and erase some marks or details I don't like, then I just punch the colors up a bit adding more saturation and make the blacks deeper with the selective color tool from Photoshop.

I'll definitely record the process next time I edit a drawing and show you guys how it goes from start to finish, just for extra clarification, if that's something that might interest you! And also because I want to normalize this process more, I received a bunch of messages on Instagram of people saying that they thought doing that was cheating! I couldn't believe it. Mixing traditional and digital mediums is just another technique, as valid as anything else. Giving your traditional drawings a digital glow up is absolutely valid (and quite satisfying) we can do whatever the hell we want with OUR art

Anyways, I'll post more of these in the upcoming weeks!

Talk to you real soon,

Gret
