New Ghibli study using jelly gouache ππ (Patreon)

Hi guys!! πββοΈπββοΈ
Yesterday I did another little study using the Himi gouache and took some pictures! Used this reference from The Secret World of Arrietty (haven't watched the movie but the scenery is just so beautiful)
I started trying to mix the right colors and putting into paper the bases, it's a quite messy proccess but the beauty of gouache -and what it makes it a bit easier than other mediums I think- is that you can add things later due to its opaqueness :D
I added some more details with Prismacolor pencils
And this is what it looked once I peeled off the tape
I kinda liked the messy borders more to be honest, what do you think? Pretty sure I'll try to not use washi tape next time.
But overall, I'm just really happy that the jelly gouache is working for me the way I wanted it to work, I'm doing more studies and just experimenting around! -without thinking I'm wasting precious paint- (I mean, I AM wasting precious paint π but you don't notice because each cup is huge)
This is the final photo with just some color adjustments that I'll post on my IG some time next week:
On other news, I'm working with Craftamo on new collaboration! They offered me to co-brand my perfect brush set based in my preferences -brush type, size, material, packaging etc.- I never worked on that type of collaboration before and I think it's suuuper exciting, I have to do some research and once I have a couple of sketches/options and I'd love to share them with you so you can help me decide what's best!
Hope you have a lovely rest of the weekend π
