Hey guys!! 💗

Hope you're doing well and had a fantastic weekend. I worked a bit these past few days but also had time for some experimental art :D

I did some blob drawings for the first time. You probably heard about this exercise but basically you paint a blob with a couple of colors with no intention of creating anything at all and once it's dry you look at it and let the shape sparks your imagination. Then you simply start drawing inside!

I'm definitely not the best at this and I'm not very fond of my results but I'm confident that the more you do it the more you get better at it, after all, we need to train our imagination as if it's a muscle ✨

Here's the first batch:

Some of these are weird and for some reason I kept thinking that I should be drawing with one single stroke to achieve a more clean result ?? but that definitely didn't work cause I can't draw with just one stroke, that's not me.

In the end I just felt a lot of pressure while doing these lol so I started again with another batch:

For these I inked the way I'm used to, very thin lines at the beginning and then adding some weight to some parts with a Tombow fudenosuke, it felt much better. Still not awesome but I liked a couple of them, like the first lady on the left or the kiss or the last one on the right, I feel I really respected the shape in all those three!

I'll definitely will keep doing more, it's a nice way to fill in sketchbook pages, these are the inks I used by the way

Mixed the pink one with purple and then the turquoise one with the purple one. I love Ecoline inks so much, they are VERY pigmented. I also used the apricot posca marker to add some details.

Hope you like these and let me know if you wanna try this exercise too! It's really cool, just take it easy and have fun!

Thanks guys for your support as always, I can't believe how much this little community has grown for the past few months, I'm very grateful for you all! 🙏❤️

Talk to you very soon!
