Hey guys !! π»
Today I took the day off to paint a bit for me, working daily digitally makes me miss so much my sketchbook and paints!
I wasn't sure what I wanted to draw so I got inspiration by looking at my Instagram and seeing all the halloweenish/autumn stuff β¨
Materials:
Unipin art liner 0.1 / Tombow fundenosuke / Moleskine sketchbook art collection size A5/ Posca Pens/ Ohuhu y Copic markers/ Gansai Tambi watercolors/ W&N gouache
β¦ Sketch with a prismacolor col-erase, scarlet red
β¦ Lines
β¦ Light watercolor layer
β¦ I painted the hair and tights with markers
β¦ The grass was looking a bit cold for what I wanted for this piece so I painted on top of it with markers to add warmth.
β¦ I didn't like the color of her tights so I mixed a bit of red, blue and white gouache to create that lilac tone that blended much better
β¦ The grass was looking too dark at this point so I mixed yellow + white to add light and details. I also use the posca pens for adding touches on top, as they are as opaque as gouache !
β¦ After I finish with gouache, I go again with a pen to make lines and edges clean again, but sometimes I don't notice that I overdo this step and the final drawing ends up with too much black, I hate that π© her hair was much better in the previous photo. I need to remember it's not necessary to put black lines everywhere and sometimes is better to let the colors do the contrast instead.
β¦ Some color correction on photoshop: a bit of saturation and more light !
After I posted it on IG I realized that I didn't painted a shadow on her leg nor her hat, why Gret whhhHhHyyYY?
Anyways, it clearly wasn't a smooth process as other sketchbook pages haha but I guess I liked the result anyways. Btw I'm so close to finish this moleskine FINALLY. I started it at the beginning of 2019, I never ever spent that much time completing a sketchbook but all the comic work I had over the past year made me terribly slow. Once I finish it I'll do a sketchbook tour ASAP!
Hope you guys are staying well and safe ππ
Talk soon!
Cheers,
Gret
