Hi patrons!!  ðŸ’–

Today I've been playing around with new alcohol markers and I wanted to share with you some thoughts!

I needed to invest in some new markers because I've been using A LOT my Copics for the past few months and some of them were starting to dry out. Copics here in my country cost way more than in the US so I figured I could get slightly cheaper markers for now, until I could travel again and stock myself with some new Copics.

However, I've been truly interested in Ohuhu markers since I have heard wonderful things about this brand and it's like the top competition for Copic. Watching this video also made me want to try them out asap lol.

I bought a 72 markers set. So at first look they are pretty great, the caps have such nice colors, they are shiny and feel great and I love that carrying case where they come. The ink is also great, I don't notice any difference with Copic's ink, quality-wise. They are awesome. I also love the brush tips, they are soft and hard at the same time and that let you do very thin/ thick lines.

That being said, the colors on the caps are nothing like the real marker's ink. Caps seem light and kind of pastel tones while most of the the inks are overall pretty saturated and vibrant. That inaccuracy bothers me a bit, but I guess you get used to it once you swatched your colors.

There're a LOT of greens for some reason while skin colors are lacking a bit in this set. I guess you get more tones and variety with bigger sets, I believe the total collection is 150 colors ? while Copic is a bit more than 300, so that's a big difference!

Here I was trying out some blendings, though I'm not the best at blending markers.

And then I did some quick sketches to color them in and see how these markers actually perform:

As you can see, they are very saturated but they get the job done. By mixing them with some Copics you get tons of new color palettes, which is nice! These are definitely awesome backup markers that will let me give my Copics a little break and let them last a bit longer haha 💖 I love alcohol markers so much, they make me so damn happy lol.

Let me know if you knew or used these markers and what do you think about them!

Take care everyone and thank you SO MUCH for being here and for your support, I truly appreciate it.

Love,

Gret
