Sir-Wales' Year-In-Review 2023 (Patreon)

So 2023...you weren't as chaotic as 2022 though there's still plenty of ups and downs. Though I suppose its the same of any year, no matter how you cut it. I moved from my apartment of six years to a smaller space, busted my ankle badly, saw my father and aunt whom I hadn't seen also in six years, and the biggest thing is this page.
Truly, when I started this, I didn't expect the level of support and patience from you all. I can't thank you all enough for everything these past ten months or so. I've done my best to work hard enough to deserve your patronage and will continue to do so for the coming year.
Speaking of, I did this last year, and I wanted to do another retrospect of all I've done in 2023. As you can see, almost half a million words and nearly a thousand pages of stories ranging from drabbles to full commissions. I want to highlight my favorites.
This won't include the 3-page drabbles that go in the prompt packs. Also please keep in mind that if you don't see a story that you commissioned, requested, etc., it doesn't mean I disliked it in any way nor does it reflect the quality. These are the stories I found most fun to make and look back fondly on. So let's get it going.
- January: Himeno's Deal with the Devils: Part 1 I really need to finish this since it involves a character that I warmed up to after the anime launched. Plus, it is a crossover some with my favorite tricksters, Envy from FMA. Aki needs to eat and eat he will!
- February: One Way Road to Cheldorado This may come as a surprise but I'm a degenerate. So much so that this story is one I read and think the classic meme 'I wish it were me'. It has a lot of elements I enjoy in a story to read or write
- March: Five Night's at Dees With this story, I forgotten how much I enjoy writing Dee from Producing Parker. Plus vore is something I want to branch out on a little bit more as seen in this story. Who knows, maybe I'll get the chance to
- April: Cosplay Blues I enjoyed this one for a few reasons. The first being it was the first official poll piece for patrons here. The second is that it brought me back to when I'd frequent Anime Weekend Atlanta. So a win-win
- May: Feed a Gift Horse in the Mouth There are some stories I can sit down, on a whim, and just blast out. Even more surprising is that they're pretty good. I wrote this one in a single sitting and I still look fondly back on it. Even got a sequel in mind and a picture commissioned for it!
- June: Rewrite of Evangelion I was debating between this, Cyberslob, or the Grimace Shake meme story I made. I went with this one as it felt solid enough to include on the list of best stories of the year, to me at least.
- July: Lords of the Blubber Bunny Similar to the Chel piece, this hit a lot of notes in stories I either read or write. A small cute friend being forcibly pampered and spoiled and mollycoddled hit a lot of the right buttons and I was happy to provide them the story
- August: Code Blue Rarely do I get to mix horror and blueberry inflation. Here I felt like the two worked well with one another. A different angle to take with an inflation story and one I am proud of making in the end
- September: Monika and the Chocolate Factory Fanfic (both parts and the coming one included) There's part three coming out next month and similar to a story I did in December last year, I like making stuff that's a bit meta and also breaks up the usual flow of the factory story conventions.
- October: Juice-Filled Tears of the Wild Angles such as these are fun to make. Mutual blueberry, claustrophobia, a few other dark elements. I know the latter can be off-putting but I enjoy the chance to stretch out into those territories
- November: Don't Gain for Me Nagatoro Part 1 (and by extension Part 2) This whole thing took me the longest of anything else this year. Longer than the Black Widow story. But hey, can't rush art when it comes to a fun mutual gaining story!
- December: A Blueberry Idol's Debut Checks all the boxes. I tried to write this in the same vein as those Violet/Veruca stories I've done with a tormentor and tormentee. More fun dynamic that way for some fun escapades!
There you have it. What are some of your favorites from throughout the year? Anything on this list surprise you? Let me know! And, as always, thank you.
