Greetings VoidSeekers,

And so, we finally arrive at the concluding juncture of this short series. Have to say, though we only ran these character episodes in a clutch to hurriedly fill in the void left by the postponement of the patch release, we still had a lot of fun piecing these unique presentations together.

Still, it's not over yet, so lets kick off with what we consider as the highlight of our efforts to date: Enemy Interaction Overhaul.

Voidbound, since its inception, was always envisioned as gameplay/story centric  project with the naughty elements as the icing on the cake. To that effect, we're now moving towards improving the RPG elements as priority. While the combat system is still under progressive overhauls, we've expanded our efforts to now tweak enemies reaction to Caly's presence as well.

Refer to the video above. Enemies now have flashlights & move in different modes:

Normal Search Mode: Denoted by a yellowish POV search arc, this is their default state whereby they're unaware of Caly and will only launch after her if she gets spotted.

Detection During Normal Search Mode: If the player is detected, the search area will immediately turn blue with a noticeable audible tone and a quick stun effect, warning the player to take evasive actions! The enemy pursues at a slower speed giving Caly ample time to sprint away at her full speed. However, if the enemy still manages to intercept Caly, a battle will commence!

Alert Mode After First Escape: If Caly manages to escape the chase of the enemy, the enemy will enter an altered mode denoted by a red search arc now. Though their patrolling movements are still following predictable patterns, the speed at which they do so has visibly increased. On successful detection this time, they'll not give you any quarter. Chase will begin instantly and at Caly's sprinting speed making escaping, a very difficult prospect.

Knockout And Sprinting: Caly can always try and knock out enemies from behind. This can be achieved by quickly taking them on from behind and knocking them out by surprise. However, only try this if they're unaware. If you push your luck and do so to an enemy who is in the "alerted" state, sprinting would be a bad idea. Enemies who are on constant lookout for Caly will hear her sprinting within two tiles around them. An audible cue will immediately play signifying your detection and the foe will about turn instantly giving chase!

If the internal testing do not earth any game breaking shenanigans, these changes will be live once the patch goes live. But, lets move on to our character of the week!

Meet, Ishan

Reverting back the spotlight focus from human to the slime faction, Ishan is a key member of the clique spearheading the expeditionary scouting tasks on their behalf. Though, in the heat of a battle, his brawn leaves a lot to be desired, his levelheadedness and smarts more than make up for it, and then some.

Then there are others who meld inconspicuously into the crowd and help Ishan gather the intel:

Unfortunately, this week's H event art progression was focused on one of the major endings on the quest-line and heavily skirts on the spoiler side of things. Even a small glimpse of it gives away the entire plot. Apologies but we won't be able to unveil anything on that front.

However! We do have some eye candies in the form of snippets that our artist was willing to share with us, and in turn we share with you.

Make it appealing without colors? Challenge Accepted!
Parking in the back.

And that is our finale for you. Once more we apologize for the delay in the patch, and we're thankful for your patience. If you enjoy short presentations like these, do not hesitate to let us know in your feedback. Time consuming as they maybe, making VoidBound interesting and appealing to our fans is something we'll always enjoy doing.

Next up with be the final progress report of the month followed by some initial prep posts before the eventual release day somewhere in the next month. Till then, take care and we'll see you soon!

Kind Regards,

Cursed-Atelier Team
