They say wealth can't buy happiness. All I ask is for a chance to prove it. The moolah from Patreon is an excellent supplement (THANK you!!), but still not enough to parole me from the day job grind. I'd need to roughly double my number of subscribers to be free to do nothing but art.

But how do I do that? I believe I've mentioned my suckiness at marketing before. So I thought I'd ask the people who've already been taken in.....I mean, graciously allowed to become my patron: What brought you into the fold? And can I do more of it?

Storytelling is what got me. I still think a regular web strip would bring you the success you crave. Might take a few attempts but you'll find the right one to run with.

Heheh, She's good with the shock entrances. And I wish I could hand ya more Karno. Sadly Karma hasn't given me winning lottery numbers so I can't be more loose with my goods, cause my bills >.<

(* sigh *) Color me, "Dramatically entranced."

I agree with Paul, below. Look into what it would take to have someplace to host a daily (or at least twice a week) webcomic in the no more than PG-13 (as far as nudity and sex... violence can go higher... such is the weirdness of the modern world). Savage Squirrel comes to mind, point of fact. Or Mink with the sexual aspect left to 'off panel' and for the private world of Patreon or some such. Your story work with both Savage (who's over-the-top violence always nears or goes into the comedy realm of extremeness) and Mink shows that you can tell deep and worthy stories. The subject of human (animal) traffic that you delve in with this Mink story arc, the misuse of the public trust in some of your Savage Squirrel stories, your political and legal satire, all make for good area for a serious/comedy/satire webcomic. Research through others out there doing it who have Patreon pages, and folks in the comic industry you already know, see if they can suggest anything regarding the 'software' and 'advertising revenue' side of things. Maybe someone else that reads this will have ideas and/or recommendations.

Haha, thought Mink's boobs got bigger for a moment, before I realized it was the headrest on the chair. X3

Considering that sexy audacity (albeit sometimes to the point of becoming grotesque) has been Karno's unique element, I for one would drop my subscription here if he neutered it. For me, the real way to go is to harness that pornographic flare in the service of good storytelling such as the Mink storylines presently being posted and "Program Switch" story on Sundays are demonstrating. After all, the basic restrained sexy tone you are suggesting is already being done with Eric Schwartz's Sabrina Online and Karno would be better with what he is doing now.
