I see Mink taking a brain-dive on this guy in the near future: "Just a bit of harmless brain alteration, that's all." Make it so he wets himself just thinking of using magic. Of course, he has a lot of gall and hypocrisy, to attempt to murder a rival and then complain when somebody threatens to do the same to him.

If this was the Harry Dresden universe, this guy would already have had his head cut off by the Wardens. You use magic to kill anyone (the "in self-defense" reason is a bit cloudy at times) and you're done. End of story.
