Speaking of working for a living, I was making a list of the projects I'm working on, this morning. There's at least seven. I've had years of experience with having too little work - makin' do as a starving artist.

But having too much work is new. I'm not sure how to handle it. Any ideas?

Arrange them in order of how much they pay, then buy a cattle prod and use it on your balls every time you consider taking on another job. That should get you out of the habit of taking every commission that comes your way.

You either do as Paul mentioned (minus the cattle prod), or you use the First Ordered, First Done method. My personal preference (and I have no irons in the fire, in this case) would be FOFD.

Demand and supply. You're a finite resource, and so is your time. If you have more demand than what you can handle, raise your commission prices. If you have managed to balance it so you have work equal to your ability to deliver, keep them the same.

It's feast or famine -- and First World Problems -- but that's a nice problem to have.

I really do miss that Oldsmobile. She was a fine lady while she lasted.
