Patreon status update - March 2022 (Patreon)

Hey everyone,

I wanted to start giving more in-depth updates to you all again. This used to be a thing I did back before the pandemic, before I burnt out on a lot of art related upkeep. The intention both then and now was to be a start of the month primer of anything cool happening as far as my art goes.

These posts will be mainly walls of text that talk about what I'm working on in the near future, anything happening currently, and other random things I want to talk about (a catch-all for cat pics, cool sticks I found, and all else). The hope is that it'll give you all a bit more insight and give me a chance to engage with you all better.

Return to Streaming

I know a good handful of you on here started as stream watchers once upon a time back when I streamed regularly so the good news for that is I do intend to stream again on a schedule. Currently, I'm planning on once a week general work streams, but I have ideas for additional Patreon benefits like sketch request streams and educational streams where I go over art topics, revisit old stuff I drew and talk about what I would do differently, or answer questions on stream. A lot of this was discussed first in the Patreon Discord, so if any of these ideas are something that interest you, definitely check that out. Additionally, if you have ideas about stuff you want to see done/covered, let me know!

Another thing I used to do years ago was form submissions for drawing prompts. I would like to bring this back in some form, and I think the easiest idea would be to use it to feed into streams. Down the line, I'd like to bring back polls with prompts for me to draw that you all vote on. At this time, I can't promise the latter as I'm moving in two months and my life will likely be in a bit of flux again.

Everything Else (What's been happening in my life)

The pandemic has not been kind to my mental health in any capacity and I definitely feel like my ability to be an artist, especially beyond just doing art (i.e. engagement on Patreon) has stagnated. Between moving across the country twice during the pandemic to having to move away from toxic roommates this past December, my ability to focus on growing my art has been hard. The talk of finally sitting down and storyboarding my comic/art book ideas back in November was put on hold for this specific reason. As someone who always likes to grow, I want to figure this out again. The first step will likely be my girlfriend and I moving into our own place come April/May. There may be a slight stall in art around then due to the move, but I'll update when it gets closer. Thank you all for the support as always. <3
