Hello!

I'm getting surgery next month and wanted to say that my Patreon will be on hiatus while I recover. It may be back up in October but that completely depends on my healing.

Sappy rambles below.

I also wanted to express my gratitude to all of you. I started this Patreon right after college as a young queer kid with no real sense of direction. Moving to Burbank and trying to get a studio job that paid ~18$/hr with no benefits seemed untenable, if not impossible. I had also just started transitioning at the time and the financial security that this Patreon would gave me was a huge sigh of relief. Seriously. Freelancing as a primary source of income is really hard to pull off. To do so while also being able to transition in peace with the financial safety net is unreal to me.

Anyway, if you've read this far, I'm getting bottom surgery at the end of the month. This has been something on my radar for years but always a bit too out of reach. However, I've saved up a decent amount and have pretty good insurance right now. Alongside COVID meaning that there's not a ton of conventions that I would miss out on makes this kind of a perfect storm of events to get a big surgery like this.

I'm extremely nervous but also super excited. I don't know how much I'll be drawing over these next two months but if I do I'll definitely be sharing it. The recovery from this surgery is a huge ordeal and I'm kind of nervous about being gone from freelance for so long. This industry is definitely very tempo driven and even just a single month hiatus has seen my income go down by 10% or more.

A few friends have pressured me into making a GoFundMe to help with expenses. While I'm not super comfortable setting up a crowdfunding thing, if you want to support my surgery and recovery stuff, my PayPal link is here: https://paypal.me/saltcat

Thank you all so much. I really can't express in words how much it means to me. <3
