“What’s today’s meditation focusing on?” The whisper of a voice barely reached the titaness’ ears as she focused on her breathing. 

Cora? Lena had a hard time remembering the name of each victim of the Anomaly roaming about her place, but she could recognize the suave tone of this tiny piece of a woman among any other.

“Gratefulness…” Lena whispered back, trying not to break her concentration.

“I’m flattered you’d spend a session focusing on me, Lena.” Cora replied with a giggle.

“You absolutely wish, you tiny brat…” Lena snapped back, unable to erase the amused smile drawing upon her lips.

Taking a deep breath, the young captain regained her focus. Meditation had become a daily routine for Lena ever since she took on additional responsibilities and that her decisions became the main factor in her teams’ safety. Everyday would bring a new theme for her to dive into. Love had been the simplest one. On the other hand, kindness had been a more convoluted session. Still, she found herself looking forward to these moments of peace during which nothing but the barely audible sound of her tiny pets’ feet slapping against the floor disturbed her.

Lena’s thoughts mixed in her mind. What was someone like her grateful for? Success? Love? Those were the easiest answers. While true, they were not providing the insightful satisfaction Lena had come to expect from these serene sessions.

“What if Cora was onto something?” Lena thought to herself. “What if I am grateful for these people’s lives ending up here, right in the palm of my hands.” she continued. The thought was pleasant. After all, she had experimented on them in ways most would publicly condemn. Clearly they had brought her a source of satisfaction nothing else had.

“Am I a bad person for enjoying having them around so much?” Lena continued to ask herself as a distant noise disturbed her thoughts. The sound increased in intensity, until the young agent finally realized what it was.

“I swear if you don’t stop right now, you two are gonna spend the rest of the week on office duties…” Lena calmly whispered, instantly interrupting the whining that had stopped her train of thoughts.

“You bitches aren’t gonna see the sunlight for a while!” Cora's voice erupted as Lena tried her best to get back to her meditation.

“That applies to you too, Cora.” Lena gently but sternly shut down the bold tiny woman sitting on her dumbbell.

“Sorry, Mistress…” Cora whispered back loudly enough to be heard by the titaness towering above her. A gentle smirk crossed Lena’s lips as the words reached her ears.

“Perhaps I’m truly grateful to have those little ones around. Fuck…” Lena continued to think to herself as she finally succeeded to focus again. Despite her best efforts, the tingling she felt in her lower belly easily overshadowed the hint of guilt tightening in her chest.

“You know what, Cora?” the young Captain asked, surprising the tiny woman.

“What?” Cora replied, trying her best to act unphased by the sudden attention directed towards her.

“Perhaps I am grateful you’re around, you little brat.” Lena kindly shared, bringing an immense feeling of pride in the tiny woman by her side.

“Thank you, Lena. At least that’s something, right?” Cora replied, the memory of being brought to this world still resonating painfully in her mind.

“You’re still on office duties for flipping me off the other day” Lena whispered back.

“Oh c’mon, I thought we had a moment right there!”

That's a wrap for my loyal and most amazing 3090 as its replacement arrived in the mail yesterday. The 4090 will not change much in my workflow except for the speed at which things can get previewed. Still, I'm already having some fun testing it ;)

I hope you enjoyed this new piece! I've spent quite some time diving back into Overwatch lately so it was fun making a lil something for it.
