I'm planning a story and want to know if a plot element will go over well.

For clarification:

A lot of stores just throw out perfectly edible, safe, sellable food to make room for the next day's fresher food.

This question is about eating that food from a trash bag specifically for that food before it ever reaches a trash receptacle. These are fresh, if a little bit stale, doughnuts taken from the doughnut display and put directly into a fresh and clean foodsafe bag.

Would you be fine or enjoy a story that included that? or would the word trash in trash-bag make you feel weird about it?
