Bruh, could you imagine if he just straight up killed this guard? I can only imagine how this would complicate things. If this way of living is objectively correct, the boss might not then wanna give him the chance to experience it out of spite for killing one of their own, so they would he left with the choice to either kill him, lock him away, or send him away, all of which he knows would result in some form of retaliation from the king.
