I really like the storytelling about Bow’s parents.

They did their best for Bow and his brothers, nevertheless, they fell on Bow with expectations that he felt obliged to fulfill.

It is normal for parents to have expectations of children, but this doesn't mean that children are forced to live up to them or that parents are unable to accept that their child is different from what they expected.

I also appreciate the fine irony of making Bow doing a coming out to his gay parents.
