Monthly Update: October 2019

Phew this month has had a bunch of cool things happening and getting finished up and there are loads of things in the works as well! 

The Past Month

Maps

While not quite finished yet the main battle map this month is the Grimbrand manor map which is coming along! You can see the progress below but I’m loving how it's turning out!

In addition all the forest maps i've done recently now have variant colour of autumn, spooky and winter which you can see here if you are a veteran patron.

Assets

Another two assets packs were released this month, the battlefield and the building materials assets, these packs expand and combine everything before them and you can make a ton of locations now for your games. On that note I ran the first asset contest as well which was a fantastic success and I was thrilled with the amount of entries and the winner was an amazing looking map!

Compassess

I’ve created a new compass design this month (actually 3) but the first one was finished and released for all my Dragon tier patrons and the improvement from some of the old ones is pretty awesome. I’m getting happier and happier with my line art!

Another task that took me a little while this month was updating and streamlining my website. Its now much sleekler with some parts being moved around, the store is now capable of new things like coupon codes and discounts etc.

Videos

I have filmed 3 videos now and the first one is coming out tomorrow, that covers making your own grids! These videos will be released every friday at 6pm and at first I’m going to cover some digital map making basics and tips and then move onto other subjects and more detailed tutorials down the line! If you have any thoughts on what you would love to see me cover please let me know in the comments of videos or patreon posts when they come out! 

Next Month Plans

The biggest things happening next month are continuing my own spooky theme of mapmaking, this is not really a halloween kind of spooky but more of horror type feel and if you saw my stream last tuesday you will know what I’ve been working on in that regard.

I have an asset pack of furniture that is all ready for colour that will be done as soon as the Grimbrand map is finished up!

I will be making more compass roses and some map borders for you to use in your own maps, some of which are done and waiting for some colour.

Dragonmeet 2019

A big event for me coming up at the end of November is Dragonmeet 2019 which is convention here in the UK for ttrpg companies players and fans that I will be going to and hanging out with the wonderful people of World Anvil. If you are going to Dragonmeet you will be able to find me floating around the World Anvil stall :D

I will attempt to bring few prototype handmade merchandise…”things” that will be coming along to Dragonmeet that might be very exciting for anyone that loves that kind of thing, these are not shirts or mugs or prints and are very much map related. If everything goes well I reveal more about that at the beginning of next month!
