Content

Tomorrow I will be sitting down to go over my list of things to make maps out of. Specifically battlemaps but other kinds of content as well. Although I have a pretty good take on what I'd like to make already and a pretty big list, I really want to see what people want as well.

So!

This is an open call for anyone to share their suggestions & ideas for maps, tokens and other content and let me know in the comments!

This can be anything from the most simple idea like a farmstead, or bridge map, to a more complicated design and idea that requires a lot more work.. like Feywild assets for example ;)

Hopefully, this will let me know if I'm on the right track :)

Post apocalypse! Numenera! Gamma World! Mutant: Year Zero!

Regional map tokens. Little cities, towns, etc. Similar to your previous, but colored.

Feywild, shadowfell, Avernus assets would all be awesome

Personally, I don't have enough Greek/Roman style battlemaps. Whether it's a temple, a polis, or the shoulders of a giant statue of a god, that's my vote.

Would love a battle map of the insides of The Maw that you posted a while back, to really complete that set!

Cityscape encounters (market, random streets, park, etc) with Waterdeep in mind, Ocean encounters, Travel Caravan Icon for party travel, Army Icons for marking incursions on maps, Quest icons for marking Quest giver, target and location of interest, a series of map tiles for a roguelike world map style of exploration (villages, castles, caves, forest, ocean, etc)

For something a little different, maybe a World setting with very little metal but also little wood. Lots of strengthen hides, sharpened stone, ceramics, glass and gem stones.?

I don't know if it's up your Alley, but I'd be really interested in seeing some Call of Cthulhu type tokens and tiles.

A sci-fi map of the the subsurface ocean of Europa (one of Jupiter's moons) would be pretty cool and unique.

I'd certainly use Feywild assets!

The interior of a large library would be a versatile and unique map. A town built upon docks would be terrific, in the vein of Booty Bay from World of Warcraft (Pic of the multi-level pirate town for reference: https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/wowpedia/thumb/e/e5/StV_070910_012413_-_Booty_Bay_-_Kirkburn_12319.jpg/1200px-StV_070910_012413_-_Booty_Bay_-_Kirkburn_12319.jpg ) A town, dungeon, or lair built atop and into the skeletal corpse of a massive giant humanoid creature.

Would modular hillsides, ridges and cliffs be doable? A lot of stuff I've seen around kinda sticks you with the creators design and requires a lot of extra work to make look... Legible.

I’m currently running a feudal Japan-inspired campaign, so I’d be overjoyed to have anything that would fit an Asian setting.

A "weird" setting - oddly colored desert, chemically-tinged water, oozes, slimes, molds and tentacled fungi.

Anything clockwork would be awesome.

Id like to see some set pieces in the feywilde. There is the occassional trippy forest map out there to rep the fey but...things like the courts of the fey, or a city in the feywilde, or idk...a pixie village? Just less feyforest random encounter and more storytelling locations.

Underdark tile set and modular cavern shapes. Feywild like yes please - but not just wilderness areas. Eladrin cities and courts of the Archfey. Feywild ruins, too. Complicated overland maps, too - a switchback road up a steep mountainside, a waterfall and pool (with cavern behind it, naturally), etc

I am looking forward to what you come up with next my friend :)

I second the large library. Maybe something like a "lost" library maybe, which was somehow lost and hidden for decades and got found again... so things could be going on there...

My proposition might be a bit tricky... but I think it would be really cool with the recent release of Avernus. I play on a TV screen on my table and I'm looking for an ''extra wide'' desert/badland landscape that I would loop to simulate motion during a chase. Kinda like the old Flintstone cartoons when they run but the background is like a bunch of seamless panel repeating over and over again. It's probably alot of work... tricky and ultra specific... it could be really cool I think :)

I third the large library. For an interesting environment, could make it like a university library (arcane academy?), with separate rooms for study/magical research, living quarters for librarians, rare tomes vaults, etc.

One map that I cannot seem to find good representation for is actually a throne room. For whatever reason, I always find ruins or full keeps with small versions of a throne room, but not an actual room.

We discussed it on discord, but just so the idea is fresh: The the players are sucked into the book, and inside of that is a side-scrolling style battle map. Picture Castlevania, Salt & Sancturary, Mega-Man really any side-scrolling video game. 'Jumping' on this map would basically just take a single move-action, but can only get 2 squares max above the ground. The players make their way through a maze with traps and monsters before finally deposited into a 'boss room' that has different platforms and stuff to jump between, where magical being resides that takes the form of a floating mass of eyeballs. The players will pop small eyeballs until getting to the 'queen' (largest) at the center and defeating it. It gives them a piece of information they were seeking, but they also gain control of the book: an inter-dimensional canvass that allows them to draw their own Keep in it and enter it at will.

Large libraries and other types of public facilities that don't get much love. I'm talking theaters, churches (we see lots of evil ruined temples but almost no churches), actual restaurants (fancy enough to require a dress code), nightclubs and other boudoir-style interiors, fancy ballrooms, auction houses, etc. I really struggle finding the maps I need for high-class heists that are 100% going to turn into a brawl because my players decided that setting something on fire is a good distraction!

Thank you for opening up to suggestions! Here are a couple of my suggestions. 1. Clockwork dungeon 2. Floating island in the sky 3. Natural Stone pillars in a desert, connected by floating broken rocks 4. A sky ship deck 5. Half and half map. Ancient ritual site with an active large stone portal, on the other half the location of where they portal leads

Absolutely agree with this, and would add guild headquarters, government admin buildings, and dance halls.

Really excited to see what you come up with! My main suggestion is maps with cultural influences that aren't white European, inspired by places like The Summer Palace, Petra, ancient Tenochtitlan, etc. I know that's vague, but there are a million possibilities and I'd be happy to see anything under that broad umbrella.

i like feywild ideas as i have been able to find pretty much everything else in one way or another. noone has any feywild type of content that i have seen but there always seems to be a demand for.

dynamic dungeons has a really cool animated throne room

I dream of asset to fill in all the beatifull map i already have, maybe some furnitures ? It give so much life in it when we can had details. But I belive, what ever you do we will love it :D

Maybe something like a bath house/hotspring? Turkish, Roman, Japanese, whatever.

Tillerz

Pins. For world or region maps I need pins! Like pins with "Here is a mine/bakery/harbour/hermit/ancient tree"... not for adding them to the map texture but using them as tokens to plug them on a map when needed. :)

Anonymous

A village that was recently burnt most of the way to the ground, with the ground wet from the aftermath of the rain that doused the flames.

Anonymous

I like sewers :) Wagons, Yurts & Tents are always welcome too

Maybe a sci-fi/spaceship asset pack?

I want a Salzinwuun map! From the Salt In Wounds setting (www dot saltinwoundssettngng dot com) It is a huge fortress with a living, but pinned, tarrasque inside. The tarrasque is pinned down with immovable harpoons. The walls of the fortress have ballista aimed inwards. There are machines inside of the fortress that might be mistaken for seige machines, but they're actually pretty much massive surgical machines made for opening up the tarrasque so that it can be eternally butchered from the inside while it continues to regenerate.
