I live in Washington state, USA and Just bought my first house last month.. I worked 6 days and sometimes 7 for 3 years straight just to afford a down payment. It's hard. As a man I'm Not gonna say I breakdown and cried in my car due too being overwhelmed and stressed to the max. Can't let anyone see me like that. Bottle it up and move on.. But I did it and I'm so grateful I finally have a home and yard. Living the dream. You guys will get there. Best of luck

I still live at home Sarah, I’m technically the Carer now 🙁😭🤣 I was going to get out at 30 then I thought I would save more money then the banks crashed, then I save more money and then the prices go up here in London. it’s like a vicious circle. Can I move in with you? I won’t get in the way I swear. Also some people say rent because everything will be included or you can move easy if you don’t like the area.😕

This was a nice listen. It resonates with me as my experiences as of late have been similar. I am 28 and I focused all my effort in life on my career, until now. No wife or kids yet and coming from a Latino household that might as well be sacrilege at my age. I only feel the pressure of getting married from my extended family not my immediate one, so get togethers are especially rough. About the house, I only just bought mine like 2 years ago, so don't let others tell you what you can and cannot do, of course when it's family it hurts just that tad bit more. The reason why I say that resonates with me is because lately I have not been enjoying my career, of course it pays well, and it's easy enough. However, I've always wanted to start streaming video games, mostly shooters. I have had a knack for them since I was a kid, even had a few "try outs" for some eSports organizations when I was younger but decided that schooling was more important then. Anyways, recently I told my family I wanted to start streaming and who knows, if it takes off, I may just leave my current job. They completely disregarded borderline laughed at the idea. Like you said, it would be nice if people believe in you, especially family, after all if not them, then who? Alas, even though having others support is nice, it's definitely not needed. The only person that you need most of the time is yourself.

Ohhh! We get the good stuff on Patreon since you can speak freely. Love a good ramble. But you get yourself that house! 👏😄 As long as your monthly mortgage payments are around 25% of your monthly income, you should be good! And if your bf pitches in, even better. 😄

Aw George, you should go for it! Yeah it'll be hard work cause you have a job as well, but if it pays off it'll be worth it. Now I'm getting this new job I'll be 'working' pretty much 6 days a week, though I really enjoy making videos so don't reaallyy class it as work work 😅 But like you say don't let anyone tell you you can't do something. If I was to tell people how much I'm now earning from patreon they're amazed and it suddenly becomes worthwhile to them because money is involved. However back when I was earning nothing from it, it was a waste of time to people. Funny how that works isn't it. You should definitely go for it. You won't regret it and I believe in you of that means anything 🎉

Aw Dave :( yeah it's a nightmare isn't it, I want to go back to the days where houses could easily be bought on one person's income. When my auntie got married, she wasn't allowed to work anymore! So clearly the man could afford to pay for everything, no way that's possible now. Unless you're in a really good job. You can live in the shed as long as you clean our house cause I cba. Ha yeah, we've got a few problems with our house but for some reason I don't want to keep bothering the landlord. Stupid isn't it

Bless you, that's crazy you had to do that just to afford the deposit though, no one should have to do that. Mind you that'll be me when I start my new job, except the 6th or 7th day will be video making 😅 I don't mind though, I enjoy it and love having you folks in my life. Can I just say, there is no shame in telling anyone when you're struggling! I'm glad to hear you're reaping the rewards, and I hope you're not working that much anymore!
