I like this! This looks like the "Hinomoto Oniko" character the Japanese came up with back when the Chinese were protesting Japan and calling them "Japanese devils"「日本鬼子」. The Japanese fought back by creating a female moe character based on an alternate reading of the kanji, where 日本 is read as "Hinomoto" and 鬼子 is read as a female name, "Oniko".
