A question I get asked regularly is how I build my objects and why they look so realistic. So let me give you a glimpse at how I create objects:

During the cause of the past 5 years I have created 1200 single items for my game and later on for other simmers to use.

Among those 1200 items, there are also objects that resemble objects from other webpages, selling their models. During those 5 years I have bought 34 licenses from those websites, that allow private and commercial use. So buying those licenses I use their models as references, just like an artist drawing a live model. I use those models to build my very own 3D-model like the artist painting his own picture without using the actual person on his canvas. :)

The high polymodel of these items have 385000 polygons (a sim has 12000 which is already a lot for sims 4 standards). Therefore I have to create a low poly model that can be used in game without breaking your graphics card. In this case (because its very detailed) my model has 3000 polygons.

To capture all the detail, I have to create a texture in Photoshop that shows all the details on my model in 2D and also another texture that immitates everything in 3D. So what ends up looking extremely detailed in the game is a lowpoly 3D model with textures on top :)

I hope I could answer your questions. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more.

Have a lovely day and thank you for your support!

Yours,

Felix
