Should I acquire an armored laser fiber and mount one of the new blue guys on one side of this machine? Then we could show EleksMaker what a real laser machine is :)

CO2 laser! And the tube directly mounted on the carriage!

Jeff Groves

Also CO2 laser vote here.

Co2 for sure. I have one of those $300 15W 445nm diodes and a $320 K40 CO2 laser setup and I have to say the awful co2 is 10 times better than the diode. Being able to cut clear acrylic, or any kind of acrylic for that matter, make it very worth wild. The steel engraving is nifty too with the right stain.

You are amazing mate, everyday I check my feed I see an amazing idea prototyped and turned into a video with details. No novice stuff, all you do is researched to find where the edge of the tech is. I'd do the same and I can't say how much of an inspiration and joy is it to see your projects! I just raised my pledge (to my budget...) and believe your work deserves so much more.

Start with diode laser. co2 mirror assembly will be more complicated. How is the precision anyway with those lo----------ng belts?

Dillon Nichols

That's so cool. I've never heard of that drive method before.
