You are slowly becoming a mad scientist.

how on earth did you get that ??

Digipan and x-ray tubes are available on eBay, but this particular box is from another Patreon supporter

yeeeeeahh... I am going back to my prediction of a pile of ash with a beard discovered in Germany... Marco - where do you even start with 100KV? I do worry about your aspirations - at the very least think of the children - by which I mean invest in some lead-lined unterhose ;o)

maybe I can offset all the dangerous, unhealthy stuff with a fume extractor and and an indoor spinning bike 🤔

I’m more imagining that scene from the Simpsons where Mr Bu...Reps emerges from the forest all glowing ... positive side note, I guess - your next Christmas cards will be a doozy.

I'm feeling dumb because apparently everyone here knows what that thing is. According to my google-fu results this could be a part used in a panoramic radiography machine? As in x-rays made at the dentist? So that Toshiba thing is an x-ray electron tube?

marcoreps

The big capacitors have nothing to do with anything, the Digipan is an x-ray sensor array which can basically take an x-ray photo without using film and yes the tube is indeed an x-ray tube :) If I get a suitable voltage source, I'll be able to look through and into small things :)

Ryan Kerick

Marco, you left out the solid 1:45 off the end where I just stare at the box of peanuts wondering if you are finally going to do a scare take.

Uwe Zimmermann

I am not saying you should, but you most probably could get significant intensities of X-rays from that tube already at a voltage of 10 kV....
