I've accepted a boring USB charger because I needed one and the guy was nice 😑

Also I wanted some verification of my laser driver circuit before connecting anything expensive to it.

Pirl Charger + 40A Constant Current Driver for Fiber Coupled Laser

Since it is a preview unit for a future Kickstarter campaign, some minor problems are allowed. I have also designed, assembled and tested a constant current driver for the 30W fiber coupled laser and am hoping for some feedback!

I'm feeling disagreeable but not knowledgeable.

Is the pirl charger going to be open source? would be nice to be able to easily change and reprogram that micro

I don't think so, but the circuit is so simple, that it can probably be figured out in 30 min

I don't think reverse polarity protection is needed, especially since this is not a big production of these for the wider market. As long as the user knows, you should be fine

I am not sure what disagreeable means in this case, but joining the discord server seems like a good response

Given how obscenely expensive these things are, the wider market has a certain appeal ... :)
