Alright, the vote ended in favor of switching to the monthly payment schedule.

To everyone and to those, who voted against it especially, I wanted to say again, that I appreciate your support a ton. But Patreon is not a crucial part of my livelihood (yet). So if you want to show them what you think about their new policies by leaving, you can totally do so.

Seeing someone leave doesn't feel good, but I understand the reason and of course everyone is welcome to return at any time.

Also: Got a nice 1W infrared laser diode. That will be the last part for the new EleksMaker video. I have no idea if it will be enough to cut acrylic ... if not, banggood now has 50W laser tubes and power supplies for them. Wont be long before one stands in front of my door :)

I was all for annual payments.

Wait.. Banggood has 50w laser tubes?!?! BRB.......

marcoreps

They'll probably ship them in their grey plastic bags with 1 or 2 sheets of foam stuff and a sticker for cushioning :)

I support your decision and I'll keep supporting your work. Thanks!

Nope, no acrylic with that laser diode :( A CO2 laser tube has around 10 µm wavelength instead of the diodes 805 nm, which passes right through

Sooo, now that patreon has reversed their decision, are you going to move back to per post?

marcoreps

Dunno ... would you? Theoretically I would have to start another poll, but I'm a bit irritated by all this talk about money, that happend for no reason at all. (I mean our posts and polls and comments here, not the community that forced P to reconsider) I'll get back to it after a few electronics posts, otherwise this silly topic looks too important ... if that makes sense?
