We get some insight finally into the aliens who built the proto-molecule. Holden claims that they all died a long time ago, and that they were killed off by something. So one mystery solved, and like a dozen more new mysteries now.

This episode is where Diogo officially earned his nickname: Diogo "Little Shit" Harari. Third time's the charm. You're not wrong about the intensity between Naomi and Drummer, everybody watching at the time felt the exact same way. It's a little painful, to see how clearly Drummer realizes that she's Second Choice (Even if Naomi would never frame it that way). Cara Gee and Dominque Tipper sell the hell out of their scenes together. The last episode probably would have been the better place for this from-the-book tidbit, but I forgot to put it there: It's an explicit part of Anna's character that she is a "Better to ask forgiveness than permission" type of person. Her introduction from the book is actually provoking a member of her congregation into physically attacking her, because she knows that he is a domestic abuser and this gives her an excuse to hit him with a taser and call the cops. Her wife is furious, but Anna saw that she could do something NOW as opposed to waiting until he beat his wife up so bad that she couldn't ignore it anymore. So her charging forward always stems from there.
