Young Blood Priest

There are few characters in Star Wars more fleshed out than Ahsoka. I think she’s is dope as hell. Rosario Dawson is playing Ahsoka in her own live action series coming out in August and I’m pretty stoked. This movie and the series fills in the gap between Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith. Star Wars Rebels fills the gap between Revenge and episode IV A New Hope. Rebels also continues Ahsoka’s story.

To give some (non spoiler) background and series prep: This wasn't produced as a movie directly, but was instead the first four episodes of the show that were edited together. This is why it's so clearly divided into discrete story elements (Padme isn't even mentioned until she shows up, because the earlier parts of the movie were episodes that didn't feature her character) . The original plan was for them to air on TV, but after they were made George Lucas was given a preview and he said "Hey, let's make this into a movie" and it got a theatrical release. The series itself is produced in what is termed "Anachronic Order", where the story jumps around forward and backward in time from episode to episode. For example, there is an episode towards the end of season one that is a prequel to this movie, and then there is an episode in season two that is a prequel to THAT story. There's a different episode in season one that has its own prequel and sequel episodes in season three. So if you get to an episode where a character who died before is suddenly alive, don't worry, you're not losing your mind. They always stay in the vaguely 2/3 years that passed between "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith". You can find official guides on the timeline, but most people find it more fun to figure it out themselves. Many episodes are standalone, but it's also very common for the series to have three- and four-part stories. Usually those episodes are one after another so the story is all told together, but sometimes they're scattered in different seasons so you need to piece together how it all connects. They aired five seasons, then the show was then cancelled while they were in the middle of producing season six. The episodes that were already finished were released as a shortened season. After the cancellation, much of the same crew went on to produce the TV show "Rebels", which can be viewed as a sequel even though it focuses on a new cast of characters. After "Rebels" ended, "The Clone Wars" was resurrected for a seventh season that gave a proper finale to the story. There is also a completely separate series just called "Clone Wars", not "THE Clone Wars". This is a traditionally animated series of short cartoons that were produced in 2005 in the lead up to "Revenge of the Sith". The concept is the same -- showing aspects of what happened during the war -- but they have a very different vibe and execution than this series. It was produced by Genndy Tartakovsky, who created "Samurai Jack". You'll never get five nerds to all agree as to which one was better, so don't open that can of worms.
