You did well following along in episodes 6 & 7 for having missed this one, glad to see you filling in the missing pieces. There are several lines in the two episodes you watched that refer back to here, which you wouldn't have had the context to understand then. I think these are the biggest points that could be confusing out-of-order: For Fred Johnson, this episode shows that he was in the Earth military 11 years ago, but now he's with the OPA. The episodes have not yet said how or why he defected, but when they met in episode six Holden referred to how Fred's public reputation is still as a brutal military officer. Fred says that's not who he is anymore, and now he negotiates peace treaties and fights for the Belt. He's also admitted that he plans to use their testimony as a bargaining chip to get himself a seat at the table with the powerful governments of the system. Chrisjen Avasarala on Earth does not trust him because of his defection. At this point, whether or not you feel we can trust him is up to your own judgement. You didn't miss anything with Amos persuading Naomi to go to Tycho, it was just that they had no other options and his questions forced her to accept that. People can lie to themselves very easily (i.e. 'Anything is better than dealing with Fred Johnson') but if you ask them to explain that to somebody else it's harder to maintain the self-lie. The line about blowing up Tycho was just a joke, since the last two ships they docked with were destroyed (The Canterbury and the Donnager) and Amos said that meant they'd get Tycho destroyed as well. For Miller and Anderson Dawes, when Dawes has Miller tied up in episode six he says that he had to let Filat Kothari go because Miller didn't take him up on the deal. Dawes wanted Miller to take the bribe, even though he's already bribed Miller's boss and could get the info through her, so that he would have a direct line of contact. As you've seen already, Miller often doesn't listen to Captain Shaddid so Dawes wanted off-the-books control. You also see Miller send a message to "Semi" in this episode, that is the person who later sends Miller a message telling him that the Anubis 1A shuttle is docked on Eros.

"Rocinate", the new name of their ship is a reference to the "Don Quixote" book by Cervantes. Holden's mom said the book was one of Holden's favorites in Episode 7 and that Holden liked to imagine he was a knight when he was young.
