Welcome to the 2nd season Marko! The language spoken was Old Norse which isn't really being used anymore in Scandinavia, except in Iceland where it still plays a big part, but that is unfortunately also changing slowly. The opening and ending are both amazing!

I’ve been waiting for this, season 2 made me love this show so much that I’m just waiting for it to end and jump to the manga :D About the studio change, it doesn’t really matters ,because all the main staff who were in wit are now doing season 2 with mappa , it’s more like a studio name change

What I don't like about Mappa is that they made the Vinland saga look like AoT. Like Einar looks like Eren in the first episode or is it just me? Also, they added some extra stuff that looks like the AoT tree in episode 10 (curse head's speech). They use a lot of WiT works (flashbacks) or like redesign in episode 4 of a nightmare. The changes they made, none of these were in the original manga Also the Mappa usual bad animation of background characters (most of them luck eyes), the background doesn’t feel real or atmospheric I am not fun of AoT and I am not fun AoT references (I think Vinland Saga should be a different story, it’s not AoT) As a manga reader, I enjoyed the additional Einar flashback in episode 1. Also, episode 5 additional scenes were good

If there's a tree that looks like the one in AoT it's probably Yggdrasil. Since that's the tree from Nordic mythology and it would make sense for it to be in Vinland Saga more than AoT. xD But I could be wrong, it's just an assumption. I didn't really pay much attention on the background characters but I thought this animation from episode 1 looks gorgeous.
