Ghibli movies are so deep and unique, and so much more complicated than one may think. I agree. The message is still as strong as it was, if not stronger. It really showed all sides of humanity.

I feel like I didn't do this movie justice at all, not one of my best reactions but I really enjoyed it, it's one of those movies that I have to watch few more times for sure.
