Prepare for the Infant Patch! (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone! This is just a reminder post to prepare for the infant patch coming on Tuesday, March 14th, which we're expecting to be catastrophic.
For Mod Users:
Assume that everything will be broken or need compatibility updates until either A) updated, or B) confirmed fine by the creators. This includes CC!
This means that if you choose to update immediately you should remove ALL mods and CC from your folder to somewhere else on your computer, or keep mods/CC disabled, and play with some new saves while you wait for confirmations and updates.
If you do not want to update immediately and want to play offline with mods, please follow these steps based on which program you are using.
Also, please do not pester creators to update or try to report issues. They are aware how brutal this patch will be and will be doing their best to check and update things as soon as they can.
If you would like to receive a live feed on what mods or CC are being updated or compatible, we recommend the following:
- Luthienrising's Broken/Updated Mods & CC Forum Thread (a new one will be posted there on patch day)
- Scarlet's Broken/Updated Mod List
- Joining Deaderpool or Sims After Dark, which are also help servers for game and mod issues (do not request help if you kept mods in after the patch).
- Join the Creator Musings Discord server (also linked at the top) for a live feed, which is also a server for learning to create mods, CC, or animations for those interested. Please note that Creator Musings is not a server for game help though, it is a creating server only.
Lastly, please do not post on the More Traits in CAS or Color Sliders post immediately after any patch to report it as broken. We appreciate that you would like to alert us as a just in case, but we are active on patch days unless we announce otherwise. Thank you!
For Creators:
If you are a creator (mods, CC, or animations), or would like to become one now due to the new patch/pack features, we recommend joining Creator Musings (link also at top of post). We not only have help sections and tutorial directories, but we keep track of what changed or was added after patches, along with XML/script comparison lists to quickly check for any override file changes. This is a good place to be once a patch drops and if you have any questions or need updated resources.
