Content

I've been putting a fair amount of thought into how to make the bonus content stuff as simple and straightforward as possible, and it boils down to two options for us. Either way, the bonus content would be exclusive to Patreon.

Keep 'em separate

The chapters are in one place to read, and the bonus content in another. Pros: Makes the bonus material easily accessible to those who've already read all the AnimeCon Harem chapters on another site.

Cons: Makes things a little more confusing when you're trying to figure out how everything fits together chronologically.

Integrate them

Write all of the bonus content to fit into the chapters, where they would fit chronologically. For instance, F:101 and M:tM would become part of Chapter 5 when posted to Patreon, and those sections would simply be absent from Chapter 5 when posted to other sites.

Pros: No confusion on where events fit in for readers here.

Cons: Readers who've already read AnimeCon Harem on other sites will have to puzzle partway through an old chapter they've already read to find the (new to them) bonus content.

For now, I'm testing this out in the current draft of Chapter 5 that everyone can see through the draft link, I found the perfect spot to fit the bonus stuff seamlessly... there's just a lot of polishing F:101 and M:tM would need to be up to "main chapter" standards, in my book.

I'm pretty sure you know my stance from previous comments, Forty. Integrate. Even if you don't do it for the Patron releases, you'll probably end up doing it when you eventually decide to publish in book format. Best do it now and have it all sorted out ahead of time rather than wait.

I'd probably call this the "Integrate eventually" pile. You're going to want to integrate because you want incidents particularly from the Fet Panel and Mana included in the story to keep the character development flowing. But the sequence of events (particularly in Chapter 5 where I assume a couple of these side chapters happen) will have to be crystal clear. For instance, does the Mary chapter take place before or after Steph's near-assault? If it happens before, why is Brian back? If it happens after, what is he doing there now. Remember, Chapter 5 is only the second day of the Con, in the aftermath of the Truth or Dare game. So, it would seem that MtM would take place here.

My issues with integration aren't with continuity, they're with the grade of material. The bonus content isn't up to my standard of writing for main chapters, and sorting out issues like head-hopping alone will involve a fair amount of revision and rethinking.
