Update - July 2023 (Patreon)

Hello all!

So, it turns out three chapters a week might be just a bit much for me right now. I managed to keep it up for two weeks, but the third week saw only two chapters (one of which I scrapped in the edit) and this last week there's only the one (which I'm pushing back to next week to rewrite chunks, more on that below). Suffice to say, I think aiming for two chapters a week is the way to go - at least for the time being. That being said, this is what I'm planning July's writing to look like:

Week One (This Week)
No additions to the Archives, Chapter two of A Corruption Most Divine posted to Patreon.

Week Two (Next Week)
Shard Warriors Vol2 Ch10 and a TBD for the Archives, no new posts here on Patreon.

Week Three (14th/15th July)
All American Queen Ch25 and A Corruption Most Divine Ch3 for the Archives, Shard Warriors Vol2 Ch10 and the TBD posted on Patreon.

Week Four (21st/22nd July)
A Corruption Most Divine Ch4 and the poll winner's bonus chapter for the Archives, All American Queen Ch25 and A Corruption Most Divine Ch3 posted on Patreon.

Week Five (28th/29th July)
All American Queen Ch26 and A Corruption Most Divine Ch5 for the Archives, A Corruption Most Divine Ch4 and the bonus chapter posted on Patreon.

As to why I'm pushing the final chapter of Shard Warriors Vol2 back to next week when I have it written right now; simply put, it's not smutty enough. The chapter wraps up the Vol2 storyline, which is all well and good. But it's lacking in the pure 'erotic' department. Mostly what I'll be doing with the chapter is adding an ending scene (an epilogue, I guess) which'll add some much needed smut. As well as taking another part of the chapter and 'slutifying' it.

I've noticed a trend recently in my writing where I've been overly focused on the story/plot aspect of stories at the cost of the erotic/smutty elements. Story is good. it's what gives the naughty scenes life. But it shouldn't come at the expense of those naughty scenes. Some stories benefit from the slow build-up (Baby Steps and Influencer and the like), but Shard Warriors Vol2 is very much a series that would've benefited from more kinky scenes.

So, for July, I want to focus on making sure every single chapter written has plenty of smutty and sexual and lewd content in it.

At the end of the month, there'll be another bonus chapter poll. This time, rather than taking patron suggestions, I think I'll make it an 'unfinished series' poll. I haven't quite decided yet.
