I've seen a lot of creators talk about the downturn in views over the course of 2023. Most are chalking it up to the Pandemic being over and fewer folks stuck at home watching content. But if you are putting out a quarter less content, I think you might be doing pretty good.

When you have a snack craving, do you reach for sweet, salty, or spicy? I've been on a weigh loss journey, down about 210 lbs for 468 over the last 3 years. I found that since I've lost so much my tastes have changed from Sweet to Salty snacks. Still have a small addiction to Ice Cream. Especially when I get high, which is actually kind of rare as I've gotten older.

Cool! I'm a big fan of any Amiga, Atari ST and Tandy 1000 HX content.

Does the recent appearance in the Omni bot episode mean there be a retro room update? PS I own that same realistic stereo eq set on top of your tv. Scored at good will back in 04. Very cool piece of kit. Great production work on the bot video. Cheers!

Awwww shame over projects always happens to me, too! Life is crazy and overwhelming and you’re already doing more than most people, so for sure be proud of the work you’ve done. It’s nice to reframe them as new opportunities too!

I too have a lot of ambivalence on merch! Some YouTubers or podcasters lean into it wayyy too much. At the same time, kinda like your videos, quality over quantity would be interesting. Creative or meaningful items that viewers can feel more a part of your community with

Do you get a lot of bears that visit your woods around your house? Do you see them often? I've never seen a wild bear! Also, do you plan on doing more travel vlogs when you do get a chance to travel I really enjoyed your vlog you made when you traveled to Chicago! :) Thanks for all of the content you have created for us over the past many years! <3

Love you keeping it real with us in these wrap-ups. Per what we want to see, I always enjoy, and re-watch, obscure games and productivity programs from the MS-DOS eras (e.g. Depth Dwellers, Simple Simon Says Christmas pack, clip art collections, Bryce 3D, MS Bob, etc.), and those will likely encourage people like me to support your channel OUTSIDE YouTube. That said, I'm concerned viewers like me are decreasing in terms of YouTube traffic, especially as time passes and those born after these software eras don't have interest. You can keep doing what you're doing and strive to outlast this alarming mass exodus of retro gaming content creators and hope to collect some of their lost traffic, you can refocus your attention to projects that would preserve Patreon/donation viewers with esoteric interests who pay ourselves for your content but potentially lose YouTube interest, you can redirect your momentum to Sims/moneymaker vids and do what's fun for you as more side projects, or perhaps you could try more creative endeavors and see what sticks (also likely to lock in Patreon people). To that last point, what if for instance we watched you make an album with old MIDI software, or a retro PC game (with contemporary hardware)? Obviously, you'd probably play it safe as a side project, but employing "the old" to CREATE rather than evoke nostalgia could reinvigorate it for audiences who might have no reason to care otherwise. This is not advice; obviously not my place/expertise as a viewer. But I want to think of ways where you can have FUN doing what you're doing and ensure long-term, sustainable success. If you're happy both with what you do and the financial security it provides you, we'll all be happy too. :)

Have you played Wizordum yet and what did you think?

You have mentioned coming from a religious background as a child. Did you have to deal with any of the satanic panic scare or similar evils of computers/video games? My father was a Baptist preacher and when we bought our Vendex Headstart in 1991, it came with a DnD game. The game was burnt in the backyard as it was deemed "Satanic".
