So this is some silliness! What a thing to come back to after my time away at the MGC convention. This is one of those items I've had lying around for roughly a decade now, just sitting there on a bookshelf taunting me to cover it... and welp, for whatever reason this was the time!

In hindsight, I have no idea why I covered this haha. It did not need its own video. But it was fun nonetheless, if only because I rarely cover this breed of silliness. It ended up feeling like the kind of video I would've made on LGR, like... well, a decade ago. Appropriately.

And now I'm moving onto working on a few various hardware projects that are all kinda coming together at the same time, not really sure which project will be finished first. So stay tuned for something. Have a good week, and bye bye bye for now!

Creepy vibes of grown ass pop stars talking to kids aside, it looks neat. Something I definitely would not have any interest in as a kid since I was never into boybands that much (I was an Aqua and Toybox kinda kid). But it's definitely neat.

Distilled essence of the late 90s/very early aughts right here.

BastetFurry

7:12 absolutely needs Chris Hansens head poping up from the side. 🤣🤣🤣

I for one am disappointed you didn't ~~torture yourself to insanity~~ unlock the secret ending

I am ashamed to admit how much I enjoyed this one. Oddware is my favorite. I cannot believe the kinds of random things that got produced like this.

Adrian's Digital Basement

Ok, what shocked me here is that the PC's gameport is bidirectional?! I honestly had no idea! Also, I burst out laughing at the scene of you on your back deck on the fake phone.

Asaf Sagi

Maybe the phone doubles as a numpad, and thus can be used in other games as a controller? Can you shed some light on that?

LazyGameReviews

It functions as a numpad in the Hotline program to a degree, but it's still using some kind of special gameport driver and doesn't send regular keyboard commands.

Apparently it *can* be! I ran across this patent a while back while researching Microsoft Sidewinder peripherals: https://patents.google.com/patent/US5628686A/en

Omg non stop laughing this video man

I had forgotten about how ridiculous all the electronics were at this time. So stupid but yet, so wonderful, looking back at it. Now, the real question is, can you hack that "phone" to do anything fun today. That would be where I would go with it. Like... play "Snake" on the PC. 🤔 It's too bad it's not a USB connection.
