Wow, just happened to be here now. I'm gonna watch it. :)

A video about Microsoft Bob or similar Graphical User Interfaces would be amazingly funny. The sheer failure alone of Bob would make for a great video.

LazyGameReviews

Bob is definitely on the agenda, it's a more fascinating story than many realize. I've got a boxed copy and even the companion paperback book to go along with it, so it'll be fun to share sometime :)

Nice. I remember the hype around this company, wondered whatever happened with them.

Terry Lee

It must take a lot of time and effort to put these tech tales together! Kudos! They are captivating! ^_^

mavrick

do you have any of these products?

condenser

These are my favourite series of videos you produce. So fascinated with these wacky 90s tech companies.

Manuel Adrian

Love hearing about these companies I've never heard of before, great stuff.

Anonymous

I think I love your tech tales the best.

That was really great. I had to smile when you showed the Palmtop, a product that became obsolote as well thanks to the Iphone. Maybe Palm would be a good topic for a Tech Tale. Btw...I kinda dig the early 90s glasses...they were huge. Maybe they become popular again when your wear them in your videos.

Ezydenias

Nice outro music, it is just so transcedending.

Alyxx the Rat

Mindblowing stuff honestly

So I guess they couldn't just exchange the transport layer of their technology with TCP/IP because mobile internet wasn't a thing yet?

LazyGameReviews

That, and the hardware didn't support it to my knowledge. Later Magic Cap devices did, but by then nobody in the market really cared.

LazyGameReviews

It really is. They practically came up with the core idea of cloud computing that practically everything uses now, it's strange how important timing is in tech

The game reviews got me interested in your channel, but these awesome Tech Tale videos convinced me to sign up for a Patreon account. Thanks for the fun and greetings from the Netherlands!

Wow...never heard of this company before. I do have OnStar in my Opel Insignia, though...nice to know where it originated.

LazyGameReviews

Yeah, I was surprised to find the OnStar link with these folks! Never really thought about it before

ZombieRonSwanson

oh man, I forgot about Microsoft Bob, love me some Tech Tales

Thank you so much for taking the time to put TechTales together. All of these videos are entirely fascinating. The 90s were an interesting time. Today, technology and computers have already changed the world. The changes computers make and the innovations they bring are the status quo. In the 90s, computers were still in the process of changing the world. Every advance was astonishing not merely inevitable.

It's funny that having the right people in the right place, but just a tad too early… can seed so much of modern technological history. Doubly so when you think about all these people having such highly regarded careers after (and some before) - yet this one melting pot of a firm seems so important to what we all have now.

The name of the company makes me imagine a military General with a magic wand of BOOM in his hands. I love your Tech Tales. I had no idea this company existed, and it such a shame they had no commercial success. Being too early sucks. :/ edit : What do you say about a Tech Tales about Atari or Commodore ? :)
