Mitch Miller

I needed this today

Today's a grey and rainy Monday... Workday is dragging... Nothing could possibly lift my spirits... *Ding! New LGR Thrifts! Awesome!!!

Anonymous

THIS IS WHAT I LIVE FOR!

Anonymous

Awesome! Thx! ❤️

YYYYYEEEESSSSS. Best birthday present I have ever gotten!

Anonymous

Haha, I was in my local Goodwill about to put my hand on an original Palm OS PDA when this notification dropped. I don't know if it was a sign or not, but I bought that Palm. Maybe someday, I can do a review of my own, lol.

Anonymous

Perfect timing, thanks Clint!

Hollie Pattison

Yesss! This just made my day. Thanks Clint 😁

Oh my god, 1:22, bottom left game, is Barbie Secret Agent, a game I STILL have and I STILL enjoy from time to time, holy crap

Anonymous

I borrowed that book so many times from my local library.

【Finally a thrift episode】

i love those old organs, i use to have one in my playroom my grandparents gave me. somehow it "disappeared" in the move, probably just my dad tired of me slamming keys as loudly as possible lol mine had a lot of colorful switches that im still not sure exactly what they did

Counter Surprise

Ahhh this just made my day. Thanks! Quick question: traveling from Europe for the DC Area in November. Staying in Alexandria VA. Anybody here who can recommend some good thrifting locations? Went to a goodwill once in VA but was utterly disappointed since it was mostly empty.

Anonymous

Another great thrifting video! Seriously though Goodwill is really starting to fall apart when it comes to this stuff. I always have better luck at independent thrift stores anymore

Anonymous

Was at the goodwill that has the construction project this summer when I through there. Hopeful that commodore printer video comes soon

Anonymous

The proportions and rounded feet on that Yorx absolutely scream 3DO. Looks like a cousin to the FZ-1.

Anonymous

'There is a load on the Wood section' he he... Now... you left the 'lucky rock' alone and got a wonderful new-old-stock printer. As a side note: are you using a Note10? Aspect ratio on some items looks a little odd (i.e.: the records section on the renovated store). Just curious, production is top-notch as usual!

Uncleawesome

That printer is a nice find :) And screen savior haha :D

Anonymous

Hmm, that far up? McKay’s is good though it isn’t truly thrifting. Let me know when you get here and I can likely find some spots for you by then. I live in Central Virginia myself.

Evan B

I agree that those cars were pretty sweet

The fan submission at 15:57 drives me nuts because I have been hoping to nab Phantom Crash from a thrift store or retro game store for YEARS and I can NEVER find it. Anyway, another fun and relaxing episode of thrifts as always!

Anonymous

That’s a really cool intro. You going to keep using that from now on? Also, great find on the VIC-1525 printer. I’m not big into collecting printers, but I would have definitely snagged that too! That’s really amazing you can find things like that, or even the Atari and NES stuff. Our Goodwills in this area are worthless. And last but not least.. on the outtro… did somebody seriously find an SX-64 while thrifting?!

Lennart Sorensen

Those keytronic keyboards are among my favourite. The 3600s are better than the 800s, but still nice. Of course I always despised clicky keyboards (I hate the noise and think they require too much pressure to activate for nice typing). :)

Anonymous

There are some nice membrane keyboards out there but that Keytronic was definitely not one. I've got a Wyse KU-8933 and it's just the right combo of full-size, full travel, heavy weight but nice and quiet.

Anonymous

The SX64 was so odd, got to play around on one as a kid in the 90s borrowing it from a friend's dad who had developed on C64s. He had a couple regular bread boxes and that.

Anonymous

After seeing that woodgrain section, I have to wonder if someone at that Goodwill is a secret LGR fan.

Anonymous

That book is awesome. My boys would go crazy over that.

Anonymous

Unfortunately I've not been able to send you a thrift in time for this episode, I had an entry for eps 39-42 - just nothing of interest lately! I know exactly the pain of not being able to find anything. Glad you had enough for another new ep!

Anonymous

Wow, I got that book as a birthday present back around 1990 . Nice find!

Rico da Rooster

Hard to find something you don't already have, eh Clint? ;) Thrifts is absolutely one of my most favourite series, and this episode was as good as usual.

Anonymous

Yes.... let’s....

DFawlt Uzr

Well that's my new favorite Thrifting intro! The other one being the Hotwheels computer one haha :)

LazyGameReviews

Nah, I own that one already. And about all the other Battlefields, heh. Thanks though!

Anonymous

I just watch these for the Lucky Rock™ cameo

LazyGameReviews

I love their other similar-looking boards, but that one felt like pressing down on wet cement!

LazyGameReviews

Close, I'm using an S10! It has a wide angle lens that I use for certain shots like the one you mentioned. Not for everything of course, but it's often easier to go wide than to pan around in cramped areas of a store :)

LazyGameReviews

Likewise, and I wish I had more of those nearby. I mean, I've got a TON of independent stores that sell used goods, but they're hardly thrifty. More along the lines of hipster antique shops really, with prices to match.

LazyGameReviews

SAME. And plenty of other car books they had in the children's wing of the main branch, spent so much time perusing what they had there. So many Usborne Books!

LazyGameReviews

It really does have its own fan club. Someone sent me a photo the other day of their family posing next to it. Apparently they took a road trip to go visit the store and see it, ha!

David S. Grop

Is it still flipflops weather in NC or was this shot a while ago?

Anonymous

Lets go thrifting, more like sifting at this point with the lack of anything worth a crap out there.

Anonymous

That World's Fastest Cars book you showed? I used to work for the company that published it.

Mac84

Fantastic intro and episode! 🤓 Oooo a boxed Palm m505 at the 11:03 mark! I’ve been finding a lot of Palms in the wild, even boxed ones! eBay prices are decent most of the time too... *eyes drawer full of PDAs* *opens eBay app anyway*

LazyGameReviews

Can't say I've come across one boxed yet, but the loose ones definitely show up pretty often. Rare that I find one I'm interested in, though I do have a few to cover sometime.

Anonymous

Clint I recently bought a Ti99/4A, would love to see you do an episode on it

Ezydenias

12:10 we actually bought an osterizer this year for 20 bucks. Normally they go here for 80 bucks. It is like the only bit non east German oldie kitchen appliance people get bonkers over here.

BastetFurry

Well, the RG series is build to last. At least thats the good side of socialism, stuff has to last a lifetime.

Dereck

asked my wife to watch some of your thrifting videos. she enjoyed it a great deal (as did i) mid video i'm like hey, i think i know that store! and that store! 'baby, i think this guy lives just north of us, we should map out all his thrift stores and get the good stuff!' anyway, many many more videos watched later, and i now know how long it actually takes you to make a thrifting video... and your stores are apparently just as bad (or close) as the ones down here in GSP. we will not be raiding your stores :D great videos tho man! we thoroughly enjoy them. im a sys admin in IT, and really enjoy your old desktop etc videos. my son and i also collect classic consoles etc. so there's a little something for everyone on your channel. you may want to check yard sales during the spring/summer if thrifting gets too slow. we found a mint sealed copy of pokemon special pikachi edition for the gameboy for $5 at a yard sale. was immediately sold on ebay for $800 and thrown in the kids college fund :( (i wanted to hang on to it, but its fine)

LazyGameReviews

Haha, yeeeaaah. Definitely a reason it can take four or five months between Thrifts episodes. Success while thrifting really is more about frequent visits rather than particularly exceptional stores. I did a video on it a while back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSAkiNnHljI And yeah, I used to love going to yard sales when I lived in the Piedmont area! Unfortunately they're not much of a thing up here in the mountains. Sometimes you'll see one or two, but homes and neighborhoods are so far spread out across the landscape that it quickly becomes a pain to reach more than one or two before the good things are gone.
