awesome. loved both oddworld on PSX. didn't even know there was a pc version

Neither did I, had it on the PSX too. Never got far though, I believe we went through a 25 spindle and many trips to the video store to hire a copy to burn in order to replace the one we'd just smashed :)

I think I had the PC demo, but it was just too damn hard (and gruesome) for me to get the full version. What I remember most is actually the really awkward music video ("Get Freaky"). Also, wouldn't you say that this game is so odd, it would qualify as... oddware? (I'm so sorry.)

Yeah, the difficulty man. I'm still not ready for a new attempt at getting further in this game after wrecking a keyboard over it a few years ago. Or was it my monitor? Maybe both.

Oddworld Abes Odyssey is a wonderful game and quite impressive for the time! But only one thing that kills it is the over the top difficulty!

I remember when this game was originally released! I didn't have a PlayStation, but had the demo of this on PC. I was surprised it would even run as it looked amazing and I often had graphical and driver issues. I'm yet to try the remake/enhanced edition on Xbox One and PS4, but I'm looking forward to it. Later in life I did pick up a full copy on PS1 (pre-owned) and really enjoyed it. Although damn it was hard! I never finished it, but I will attempt it again one day! Great video! :-)

Wow, if this game is too hard for you, it probably is impossible for me to play, haha. I do have some platformer skills but I crash and burn horribly with the harder ones unless I decide to be persistent with trying over and over again. But you're right, though, that the harder games are definitely more rewarding... until you want to ragequit. :P Either way, it looks like the graphics of this game aged well over time and still seems captivating to play even today!

LazyGameReviews

They made some really good choices with the remake, and the gameplay definitely is more enjoyable as a result.

That difficulty curve. I'm not sure I'd have the patience for it these days, which is a shame, as I do remember it fondly (though only from reviews, my PC at the time wasn't quite up to scratch). This did remind me about the remake though. May have to go check it out one day just to be sure ;)

You pronounce it Mud-uk-ins. I like it. On of the guys at Game Sack pronounces it Moo-doe-kawns

I really want to share this review with my friend. Any idea when it will be posted for the public?
