There is a SimCopter mod for Cities Skylines. I haven't tried it, but I don't think it features missions yet. https://youtu.be/ZBXuex4_B9Q

That is the worst walking animation I have ever seen. And I have seen a lot of bad ones... I knew about the "gay controversy" with this game (probably from a past Maxis video of yours) but I didn't know you could um... join in. >.> lol

I certainly remember bits about the controversy, but the whole story behind it is quite the tale indeed. Though, it really is just a minor footnote in the scale of things - a shame that it didn't quite get the development time it deserved, as the idea of taking one's cities & putting them into a whole other context is still amazing this far down the line!

That running animation... It looks like he has a motor neuron disorder!

I thought the last name "Jacques" was pronounce like "jock-quiz", not just "jocks".

This was the best worst game I ever played. Loved screaming at people (and cows) to have them get sucked up into the rotors for no reason.

Never played this one, but it actually looks fun. Saw a copy I passed on at Goodwill recently. I'll have to check if it's the A revision.

I laughed hard when the flying gay dude at 9:16 met the camera . Fly on, bro !

Aha this game is my childhood. The crazy things your character would say on the megaphone, the ability to add movie clips to the game that play in the drive in theatres and so much more. The little things like that is what made SimCopter so awesome. Plus... Something about the "ugly" building/helipad lights and fire/smoke graphics, especially during the in-game night, just appeal to me. It may just be my nostolgia, but the really crappy graphics draw me in, even to this day.

Pilotwings 64 is pretty close in terms of wackiness, but SimCopter's easter egg just inches the game higher in the wacky-flight-sim rankings.

I loved this game as a kid and I actually played it with a Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick. TBH: I found controlling the game with rudder control on a joystick immensely more fluid and precise than using the keyboard, as one of the things this game did very well was joystick integration. Alas, once I went from a P120 to a P3 600, it would crash after every 10 seconds of gameplay. Once I went up to an AMD 1 GHz, system, it would crash instantly upon starting gameplay. :( I'd love to try this thing out with my HOTAS joystick someday... gotta figure out if I can maybe get it working on a 4 GHz Windows 8.1 system. ;D
