Greetings, all! Just a heads-up on a coming review, and it's an oft-requested one: Microsoft Midtown Madness. If you're familiar with this one, I'd be curious to hear any memories or anything you may have of it. This is one of my favorites from the late-90's and I'd like to make sure I don't leave anything awesome out. Some random footage I just capture is linked to here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywm8a738dRc), or at least it would be if Patreon's embeds were working. Anyway, feel free to reminisce or familiarize yourself with the gameplay for the first time :) Not sure if it'll be the very next review or not, I'm actually waiting to get a copy of the manual from eBay since I'm lacking that from my boxed copy. If not this week, then next. Thanks for watching and supporting the show as always, and I hope you enjoy this one! -Clint/LGR

I remember we had a demo of the game that I never could get working for some reason. I did watch a friend play the game though and it seemed fun. I just have never experienced it myself.

Had the demo of the game myself, and yeah, it was a real pain to get working! At one point, all I could see was white fog and a vague outline of cars and buildings. Eventually got a better video card and that fixed it, and I played it to death before getting the full game.

I'm not shure where should I post this comment, so I'll post it here and on Youtube's link aswell. Correct me on this one. I remember how I saw this game for the first time. To say I was impressed is to say nothing at all. This was like a dream come true. Absolutely free-for-all racing in the decorations of some real-life cities. That was something I could never believe is possible on computers. Now it looks totally outdated but back in a day it was just fantastic. So yes, I think this was the first sandbox-kinda-style game I've ever played. And it was amazing (yet it became boring pretty soon, but I still respected it for what it was).

Haha, nice! I played that a lot back then. The memory that stands out the most, is countless hours trying to run over the pedestrians, to no avail :(

When I was a kid, I remember playing it at a local radioshack, and I basically begged my dad to buy it for me. Luckily, it worked on my dinosaur computer, and I had hours of fun. I still remember seeing the words "Chicago Edition" On the box, and my dad explained that it MUST have meant that there were other editions. We were both disappointed. Time passed and I eventually got Midtown Madness 2 which was also excellent imo, except for the limitation that my dinosaur computer would literally blue screen any time a siren came on in the game. Amazing! But in the end, 2 great games with even better memories.
