Wow, you really poured your heart and soul into this review - I can tell. You did a really great job on this!! You also are way better at interior design and house building than I ever will be. >.> BTW, I loved that you used white Comic Sans font for this video just like the Sims 1 did... perfect touch to an already awesome video. :)

Excellent job with the video. I played the Deluxe Edition because it came with my second PC (Gateway 500SE). I played it to no end and modded it. I remember the family I had the longest consisted of Captain Picard, Data, Spock and maybe someone else I'm forgetting. I loved the game but I never played another Sims game after that. While I no longer have my first or second PC I still have all the software that came with them, including The Sims Deluxe Edition in its thick DVD type case.

Aye, I've been working on this one for a couple weeks now :) And yes, the Comic Sans was a must!

Man, I loved modding in celebrities and fictional characters like that. So many twisted stories to come up with.

Awesome review. I was never much of a "simmer" personally and only recently started getting into the franchise with Sims 4. That being said I do respect the original game for what it was, I was just more into action games and adventure games at the time and therefore Sims wasn't really what I wanted.

Yep, you chose the absolute perfect track for the end. An absolute tsunami of nostalgia washed over me as I heard it, taking me back to the first time I ever tried to design a house in the game over a decade ago (spoiler: I wasn't very good, and still am not to this day).

In germany they put some of the Original Tracks of the US Version out. For whatever reason, but luckely they just where in a folder next to the active ones and you had to put them into the active folder and they just play. Also the German version at least but I think the all European versions have a slightly different Hub World Look or whatever you call it. It isn't much but you should check out the European Version. Also the German Version got the "Bild" instead of the normal Newspapers. Which actually isn't a real newspaper, it is pure garbage but they had some marketing deal at the time so they got int.

Ah, I remember starting off with The Sims back in the day. I believe it started when mom got it, and we ended up purchasing two copies of it so we can play at the same time on our own computers. I'm not sure how many hours I've put into the game goofing off, but I always enjoyed the downloaded objects mom found. I wish I had them still, but you know what? We may still have them on her old HP. After watching this, I absolutely have to dig through her old computer and try to find them. Also, do you know if the old content is still available at a reliable source? This really makes me want to dive back into the Sims 1 for grins and giggles. My Windows 98SE machine would be perfect for this. =D Great job on such a nostalgia trip, and I can't believe it has been 15 years already, it almost feels like yesterday when I played it a lot!

All the places I used to download objects and custom content are still up! Most of them moved onto newer Sims games and as such stayed relevant, but the old stuff often remains :) Places like 7 Deadly Sims and The Sims Resource

Man, I remember becoming so obsessed with this game when it came out! I loved the music, expansion packs, and the content that you could download. Awesome review, man.

As I believe I may've mentioned before, the only fun I had with The Sims was cheating in loads of cash and making houses in it. :B Incidentally though, it doesn't surprise me that the game started life as that style of gameplay on its own. ;)

I still remember the first time I heard about The Sims, it was from the older of my two younger brothers. He discovered it through a friend, and excitedly told me about this game where you could have the characters have sex with each other. Although he stressed that you couldn't see anything, he just thought the animation of seeing the bed rocking and sheets moving around was hilarious! ...We were weird kids. Although hearing of you being into designing houses as a kid, I can't help but imagine an alternate universe of Lazy Architect/Interior Designer, building and designing houses for a living...and I'm kinda sad I don't live in that universe. :P
