Many years ago when I was the tender age of 8-ish, I discovered Sims 2 for PS2. This was my first Sims game period. I remember thinking for many hours how such an amazing game could exist, how I had gone through the 2000's not knowing the word "Sims" and then BOOM Sims 2... Eventually my mum and I learned of the PC games and that's when shit went down. We bought the base game then all of the expansions and Stuff packs. We fought over the computer and left behind the weirdest families for the other to see. My mum's favorite stuff pack was the IKEA stuff pack because we couldn't afford to have the real IKEA furniture. Eventually Sims 3 came around and through our new adventures not once did we say "You know what would make this game better? Doing the bloody washing!?!" The Sims are like an American Cartoon, everyone wears the same thing all the time and we the audience don't care. Personally, if they were going to do another stuff (or equivalent) pack I would have been in favor for an ISHKA pack because nothing is more immersive then a bunch of overpriced hippy stuff. My mum and I have tried playing Sims 4 and just can't. I feel Sims 4 would have been an amazing game if it were the sequel to Sims 2. There's so much creative freedom in Sims 3 that just isn't there in Sims 4.

Clint, I wouldn't really complain too much about this being the "Most voted pack". I find the Internet seems to vote for the stupidest things when given the chance. Don't forget that people wanted to call a boat BoatyMcBoatface when it came to an online poll.

I don't play Sims, I never have. But it's fascinating to see just how deep this thing can go, and also... how detailed your reviews are! It's really quite mesmerizing. Loving the Patreon schedule as well.

ngl, I thought this was a joke when I saw the title. That the community actually picked it...Wow. Either that's a lot of people who would find turkey on pumpernickel "bold and daring" or it's a brilliantly coordinated bit of trolling to see if EA would actually release a stuff pack based around one of the most boring chores of the real world. Which, uh, good on them, I guess?

I personally loved this pack. Perhaps the first stuff pack I actually liked but I'm just biding my time for Seasons to come out.

It is yawn worthy stuff pack. I used it in one household but haven't added it to any other. There just arent enough hours in the day for it. I did not vote for this or anything.. im older than you.

Fair and funny review as always, LGR. The Sims is one of those games that has such diverse fanbase - it truly is impossible to please all Simmers, because we all play so differently. I'm primarily a builder/decorator who likes to build realistic homes, so being able to add a laundry room is actually pretty cool to me. I'm also fine with my Sims having to do more mundane chores because it adds realism and maybe a bit more challenge (to a not very challenging game). That said, I can see why other Simmers might find it horribly dull.

This is why my mom never bothered with the Sims 4, she enjoys Sims 3 and she has most of the stuff packs and expansions for that game (except the Katy Perry one). She doesn't see the point of having to shell out that much money for so little features she already has.

Wow, though in a way I'm almost glad I never dove much into the Sims 4, as much as I would have liked to have loved it. I can say I'm just a bit more disappointed really still with how EAs taken the series.

Yeah, I agree with you on this Laundry Day Stuff Pack. I am very surprised it was this popular... unless people really wanted something else and EA effed it up once again...? In Sims 3, I found the laundry option to be annoying and unnecessary. Yes, it's more "realistic" but in life simulation gameplay, it just gets in the way, in my opinion. It was especially annoying in very big houses to find dirty laundry in every corner that someone had to pick up and put in the wash... ugh. On a positive note, your puns were very punny in particular this video; I enjoyed "thanks for washing" especially :D

Risking sounding sexist - I feel like the Sims 4 is more than ever marketed to mums and the type of girl that likes to 'play house'. That the community chooses laundry as their favorite DLC topic says a lot. It's all so safe and socially acceptable... I miss the weird stuff. Heck, I even miss the stereotypes of the classy women and their rich, cheating men. No wonder the Goths have become less of a flagship family than ever - their storyline is just not modern and mundane enough I guess.

Having stuff packs assume the role of the store content seems like a worthy sacrifice that would keep this game cheaper and more affordable than The Sims 3. The Sims 4 is still a welcomed experience to the franchise for everything that it does add and the expansion packs support this notion. Get to Work and Get Together specifically where as City Life felt as if it left a lot to be desired compared to Late Night, Nightlife, and Hot Date. I still need to get caught up with The Sims 4 since I am now two stuff packs behind and one expansion pack behind (Pets). I said that I was going to get these stuff packs since by the end of this game's lifespan I get the sense that it's going to be worth it. There are some little things in these packs that I find really add more to the game as you continue to play it. The movie pack re-added the movie feature to most TVs which feels welcoming. The community according to EA is only those who comment and follow their official message boards or their Facebook / Twitter accounts. And that community sucks heavily when it comes to determining quality content. Representing The Sims General here, yo.

I ended up buying it mostly for the new items and clothing. I dig the aesthetic. I would've rather had one of the other implementations of this 'eco living' idea, though. Off The Grid would've been cool.
