Back with another funky old laptop on LGR! This one isn't as old as I typically cover, it's only from 2010, but it is absolutely off-kilter enough for a video.

This is the Libretto W100, an innovative dual 7-inch touchscreen UMPC from Toshiba. The final machine in the fabled Libretto line and the first consumer Windows laptop with twin touchscreen displays! It was built as a limited edition celebration of Toshiba's 25th year in the portable computer business, so not all that many were made to begin with, and then its $1,100 price tag ensured even fewer people were willing to buy one.

It was a fascinating machine on the cutting edge of computing when new, and the very embodiment of "ahead of its time." Having no physical controls and using two touchscreens for input on a PC is still uncommon even today, so it's kinda nuts Toshiba tried this in 2010 with Windows 7... Translation: using it is downright cumbersome and often frustrating, ha.

Hope y'all enjoy looking back at this footnote in computer history, and thank you as always for your Patreon support! As usual, this is an early edit so lemme know if there's anything weird needing fixin'.

Also I love how you keep it on a standard sized mousepad. It really showcases how tiny this thing was, and how truly bizarre that kinda made the whole experience

I chuckled heartily at "I'm so tired of fingering this!" :D
