November '18 Life Update (Patreon)

TL;DR I'm doing good, but my husband had a cornea infection that ate a lot of my time over the last two weeks. Core's Opportunity 21 should be up by late Sunday evening.

I don't often do life updates because it's always pretty straightforward. I write, I spend time with my poly family, I exercise, and I go on nature hikes. To me, all this stuff is normal and not worth many words. Sure, I may figure out social media and update my twitter with the little things I do from time to time, but lately I've just been writing when I have free time. This is the most writing motivation and creativity I've ever had.

My life has improved quite a bit since I started this Patreon, not just my writing motivation, but my enjoyment of life itself. I'm okay being an author that puts cool stuff out there laced with lots of hot sexy times. Some would call it porn, but I think of it as erotic art. I craft it with the same care I'd use to create a hand-drawn fractal (I've done this several times, takes forever, looks awesome).

This last week and the week before it, there was a bump in the road.  My husband, who is a pilot, got a corneal ulcer from contact lenses he didn't realize were expired. It hurt so much he couldn't sleep, it put his livelihood at risk, and it was scary enough that the eye doctor had to see him every day for an entire week.

When I wasn't driving him to the eye doctor, I was picking up eyedrop prescriptions and trying to help take care of him. It was stressful, but we got an amazing eye doctor. She kept us from freaking out and would even double check her suggestions with other doctors and the latest medical literature.

As a result of her exemplary care, my husband's vision is just about back to normal.  The infection is gone and his cornea is healed. There's a tiny bit of haze from white blood cells that are hanging out in his cornea, but he can go back to work. The haze should clear up within the next week or so.

During all this, I was trying to get writing done. I really wanted to get the draft of a new Mingling Universes story done and I succeeded. I also wanted to get the next Core's Opportunity chapter done. Well, I'm just slightly behind on that.

All in all, I'm happy my husband can see out of both eyes and can go back to work. The slight hit in my productivity was well worth it. I was there for him when he needed me most.
