Hi all!

Youtube keeps pestering me about starting up channel memberships on their platform, and I'm thinking of giving into that.

Channel memberships on Youtube is pretty much what Patreon is to y'all guys, gals and the rest - an exclusive look to behind the scenes of Project L, but only on the side of the videos.

What would this change on Patreon?

Absolutely nothing. I'd just be repurposing the Patreon video content to YouTube, if someone would prefer to support the project over there.

Would Patrons gain anything from joining on YouTube?

No. Patreon will be the main channel and will have all the same content plus videos plus cards plus my silly ramblings here. Also, YouTube takes a bigger percentage of the income than Patreon, so I would highly recommend coming through here.

Besides, the Patreon-only videos that are hosted on Vimeo have much higher quality than those on YouTube.

Why am I writing it here, then?

So that you won't feel any FOMO, as the youngsters call it, or fear of missing out in traditional terms—you won't miss out on anything (except for some stickers that you can comment on YouTube videos, I guess?).

When will this happen?

Soon? Maybe? This week? The week after? I'd like to hear your input from this before I actually decide to do anything.

Also to see that if having a video marked as "unsafe for advertisers" is even suitable for YouTube channel memberships...

Hi Tuomas, no need to go YT, Patreon is a fine place for your stuff. I'd rather pay an Euro more here than pay extra on YT. Keep the good work up and running ...

Oh, I don't mean that I'd be leaving Patreon! I was just thinking of opening a kind of an alternative option, although inferior on Youtube.
