I already left journals over Inkbunny and Furaffinity regarding this matter, but I'll make a lengthier post here, trying to explain a bit. My commissions are still closed, but recently I've decided it's time to update and make some changes to my commission policy. These changes were made to protect myself, and they will also protect whoever commissions me.

- Payment must be made IN FULL.

I'll be honest, only one or two people still insist on the method of payment to pay half first and half after. While I understand in a way this reassures the client that I'll be doing the work, it doesn't reassure me the work will be paid in full (and it has happened some times).

However, I've been doing this for over 10 years. I've been accepting commissions ever since I made a VCL account, back in 2002. As such, I don't only have experience and live off my commissions (thus I can't just take money and not finish), at the same I have a HUGE client database that continues to ask me for commissions. In my public galleries, 90% of what I post are commissions; every single person ca vouch of the work I do and that I finish it.

If my reputation isn't enough for someone to accept paying full from the start, from here on out I'll be making paypal invoices, which work as proof of work and identification of the transaction - and if i don't finish that work, you can contact paypal and complain.

- If a commission is over 100$, I can accept partial payments.

Because I know 100$ and above that is a lot, I'm willing to accept partial payments. This will work only if the commissioner talks to me first and tells me what kind of payments they are willing to make, and what sort of plan they have in mind. I'll agree (or not) with the plan, however, the final picture will NEVER be completed without full payment made.

- I will be sending you a Paypal invoice for the total of the picture.

I'll no longer accept paypal transactions without invoice. In order to know what an invoice is and how it works, I've found a really good explanation on Tumblr. This is to PROTECT MYSELF ; since one of paypal's TOS updates, if I do not write down on paypal that the money I'm getting is from commissions i may be fined ( usually people mark payment as gift in order to circumventing fees, which is illegal).

Also, these invoices will justify the money entering my bank account and will be added to my taxes as proof of work.

Invoices are handy because I'm in full control of how I receive money, I know who paid what and when, and if ANY issue comes up, I or the commissioner can contact paypal and present the case as problem with services (which couldn't happen if the money was sent as gift).

These changes are put in place /now/ and once I open for commissions again, they will  be in place then. There will be no exceptions made to it due to my own security. of course talking to me first about anything you may not agree with is definitively fine!
