Yoosang is a really well known music producer in south korea since the 90's. If i'm not mistaken the song they're singing is a song from the girlgroup S.E.S from the 90's that he composed himself. He also write for big names like IU or Park Hyo Shin. Fun fact, at the beginning Anton from Riize was performing the cello beside him. It's his eldest son. So Riize was performing with Anton dad. Both his parents are famous because his mother is also a model and an actress. So this performce was kind of special because Anton is sharing the stage with his father. I hope it helped a little.

- Last award show reaction? Awww 😢 But yeah, the Seoul Music Awards and the Circle (Gaon) Chart Music Awards haven't been playing along with posting videos, so I get it. 17-18th of February are the Hanteo Awards though. - Is it me or is the volume a little low? (of the video) NMIXX - A little 2nd gen? Close. They were covering "Just In Love" by 1st gen group S.E.S. You know this group a little bit through aespa's cover/remaster of Dreams Come True. - Great cover. They have such good vocals. They recently released an a cappella highlight medley for their upcoming album. So good 👍 STAYC - This was their cover of IU's korean cover (My Dream Patissiere) of the theme song of the anime Yumeiro Patissiere. - So wholesome and sounded great 👍 Makes you happy. NIZIU - All the cute/wholesome songs in the beginning? 😅 - Niziu and Twice covering each other's songs? I've seen Niziu covering quite a lot of their big sisters actually: Dance The Night Away, Yes or Yes, Doughnut, Pop!, What Is Love, and I could've sworn I've heard them cover Happy Happy too, but can't find/confirm it. CRAVITY - Their own Kingdom performance? Yeah, I thought the same 😅 Bit of Wolfgang maybe? - The audience really had a blast with this one! - Yeah, camera was great. - I was very surprised how small the crowd was. Still, you could hear them more than in other award shows. LUCY - Awesome bass solo! - I agree, I love to see underrated groups at these shows. EUNBI - Can't.... take..... my..... eyes of her. Were there dancers? Was there something in the background? I didn't notice. Whatever she's selling, I'm buying. NMIXX - Great intro, but I'm not a fan of these outfits. They brought out the peacock feathers so I was expecting something glamorous/elegant and we got half comfort clothing. They are cohesive though, and they do look nice. Maybe it was just the peacock feathers that threw me off. - Yes! We didn't get Love Me Like This last time, so I'm glad we get it here. Lily's high note and that choreo 🥰 - I share your disgust of the "they ate" line 🤢 KEP1ER - Love these outfits - Sounded like an audience member was getting killed by the confetti 😂 STAYC - Stayc girls! It's going down! Yeah, I love the crowd. - When I watched this I was also amazed by that 360 around them camera shot. Looked awesome, and I was already looking forward how you would react to it 😊 - Isa in black is a problem 🥵 FROMIS_9 - One of the best performances for me. Really makes you wish they were invited more often. - Attitude is such a good song! - fromis_9 really didn't come to play. They killed that. YOUNG JI - Great to get to hear different songs from her (as much as I love Naneun Lee Young Ji), and to hear more of her singing. - Nice to give the dancers some attention. - "I'm 22"? She's 21 though 😅 - So, the teaser of Sistar19's comeback looked... "intriguing" to you huh? 😏 I'm also hyped for it. Hyolyn's group is actially "Sistar" (4 people). Sistar19 is a subunit with just Hyolyn and Bora, which also made awesome songs. Ppl often refer to Sistar as the "Queens of Summer", and while not wrong, they have a lot of other songs that are even more amazing imo. YUJIN & YOUNG JI - I'm not sure why but this wasn't my fav performance. It might be the big difference between their voices or something. Both did great, but I just couldn't vibe with it. DYNAMIC DUO & SOYEON - Nice fresh version - I've been waiting for more of these collabs. Keep em coming. YEJI & HYUNJIN - The Hwang siblings! (same last name) - Aaaand Yeji destroyed me again - Aaaand Hyunjin destroyed me again - Aaaand now they are both destroying me - Seriously, they are so beautiful, it's unreal. NCT 127 - I like the Christmas vibe, as well as the song. Proves that boygroups don't have to be full power / in your face to be entertaining. - the outfits were too grandpa for me 😬 PAUL KIM & MIYEON - If you didn't already know, Miyeon also performed the day before on the MBC Drama Awards. There she unfortunately didn't had a great performance. She was getting hate for it and she posted an apology. To come back the next day, on yet another MBC show, and deliver a great performance deserves so much respect in my book 🫡 - I had the pleasure of watching Paul Kim live. Great voice and such a nice guy. - The title is "White" and is originally by Fin.K.L (Lee Hyori's group). It may sound familiar because BoyNextDoor sang it at the SBS Festival. Gahyeon (Dreamcatcher) has also covered it 👌 HYOYEON & BEBE - Another awesome collab performance. - I guess this is one of the big differences between an Awards Show and a Music Festival. On Awards Shows you usually only see the popular (winning) artists of that year, usually performing their latest or winning song. While on these Music Festivals you can get all kinds of artists, collabs and songs. All for 1 big celebration 🍾 - Love this song btw. THE BOYZ - So this is kinda like their Danceracha 🙂 - Great dancing. I like how smooth and fluid it is. IVE - I love their outfits, and that electric guitar. And that stage looked amazing! - I feel like I'm winked at 1000 times by now 😅 - Are you that 90's bitch? 😅 AESPA - Like you said. Everything incredible. ITZY - I really like that they performed Bet On Me (I love this song), but I really disliked that background. So much they could've done with this song, but this wasn't it for me. ATEEZ - Very fun intro. Must've been fun for the dancers too. - They brought the energy while enjoying themselves. (G)I-DLE - The performance was a little bit simple, but probably because they wanted to nail the vocals, since they were holding handheld mics. DAY 6 - Crowd was mvp 😅 YOON SANG & RIIZE - Yoon Sang is a soloist, but he's also the father of RIIZE's Anton. That's why you see them side by side. So wholesome. ZB1 - The first to perform outside. I don't know how cold it was, but must've been quite cold 🥶 - Interesting outfits. ENHYPEN - Yup, amazing costumes. Not sure about some of the shirts though. - That "futuristic" part in the middle sounded great. Too bad they didn't continue with that. - I wish there were some changing lights on the stage THE BOYZ - HOW HYPE WAS THIS?! LETS GOOO! 🤟 - Their songs might not always be the highest ranked, but their performances are really always one of the, if not the, best. STRAY KIDS - How hard would you be shouting "TOP LINE!"? SHINEE - I always love it when they have both male and female dancers at the same time. ALL - Look at Liz being so much taller than Giselle. - Yeah 😂 Young Ji and Eunbi are even funnier. I never realized how tall Young Ji is, but apparently she's 176cm while Eunbi is around 159cm. In terms of execution, this is probably my fav show. All performances were great. Camera was great. Stage was great. Crowd and sound were great. Collabs were great. Etc. The venue (both stage and audience) could've been bigger.

There's in fact even more shows you could THEORETICALLY watch but it's probably too much at this point. - There's the KBS Music Bank Global Festival which was decent but SO LONG holy shit. Over four hours worth of performances from almost 40 different groups and artists. - And the Seoul Music Awards were fucking atrocious. I appreciate that they invited some artists we didn't see at many other shows, like Kiss of Life, Billlie, Yuju from Gfriend, Xdinary Heroes, Sandara Park from 2NE1, Bambam and Youngjae from GOT7, Sunmi, etc. But they really fucked up on the production side of things. Awful camera work and the sound completely disappeared during two performances. Bambam went on Twitter to complain about the worst sound system of his life. Coming from someone who has been performing on stage for almost 10 years, that's saying something. - Neither KBS nor SMA have their performances on Youtube anyway. I have alternative links to the full shows and complete time stamps for each performance but honestly, it's probably not really worth the hassle. - There's also the Circle Chart Music Awards from yesterday. I haven't seen those yet, still waiting for any kind of upload. I see you haven't included JuJu Secret. I get it, you technically don't know that group. But the thing is, you actually do know both people in it. Lee Mijoo from Lovelyz and Park Jinjoo who played a big role in It's Okay to Not Be Okay. And they're just a project group for live performances. They don't have any music videos that you could have seen. Would have been really fun for you to see them here. Oh well. I suppose 195 minutes is already plenty long for a reaction video 😅 Opening Covers - Flying, Deep In the Night is originally by Lee Moon Sae and came out in 1987. - Minho and Minhyun were actually the MCs for this entire show, alongside Yoona from Girls' Generation. Yoona has been hosting this show every year since 2015. - ZB1 covered Fry's Dream by AKMU. That's the b-side to Love Lee. - ZB1 band comeback when? I need Hao to flex his violin skills more. - Nmixx covered Just In Love by S.E.S., the first ever girl group to debut under SM back in 1997. This specific song is from 2001. - Considering that this literally is a first gen song, it's gonna sound quite retro :D - Stayc covered My Dream Patisserie by IU. An OST song that is annoyingly nowhere to be found on Spotify :/ - Their mics are too quiet. - You can talk, I just blasted my ears with an hour of Venjent and then went straight to this 😂 - The first instance of THE DRONE. Get ready, it's gonna get wild. - Stayc didn't attend The Fact Music Awards or MAMA. But apart from those two they were at all the shows, yes. NiziU - The original Japanese version of Paradise also has a music video if you're interested - NiziU in general reminds me of early Twice. - Speaking of Tetris songs, have you ever heard Hold On Tight by aespa? RIIZE - My favourite Riize song is still Memories. Their first full song and they immediately hit a home run. - I sincerely hope that Love 119 remains the only comeback they have as 6. Need Seunghan back in the group! CRAVITY - Megaphone is a b-side to Ready or Not but it also has a music video. - The conceptual performances always win! - Such a nice change of pace to see you actually impressed by the camera work! - God damn. LUCY - Killer solo to start! - I just discovered Unprocessed the other day! Only heard Thrash so far but I'm very impressed. - Pixy toured here in Europe a month ago. But I don't know what's happening with them going forward. Truth be told, I'm quite worried. The company website doesn't exist anymore and from what I've heard, most of the company moved to the other side of the country. Apparently only a skeleton crew of managers remain with the group in Seoul. Their last EP also got ZERO promotion. Even the title track Truth or Dare only got a performance video that was entirely styled, choreographed and directed by Rinji herself, one of the members. - Back on topic, when will I finally find the time to get into Lucy? - Petition for way more violins in bands! Kwon Eunbi - Love the circus attire! - Easily my favourite solo artist to come out of IZ*ONE 👀 NMIXX - I just wish we got a performance of Roller Coaster at one of these shows. It's all been LMLT and Soñar. Roller Coaster feels like the forgotten middle child 😅 - That direct transition from Soñar into the bridge of LMLT was dope tho! - I thought I was Sullyoon biased but Haewon has had me questioning myself for weeks now. Kep1er - Xiaoting: on the ground. Me: dead. - Amazing remix, amazing outfits, amazing performance - Only tangentially related: Girl group LIMELIGHT had their final comeback as a trio today. After Kep1er's disbandment in July, Mashiro and Yeseo will be joining Limelight as new members. STAYC - If I don't hear that sort of crowd engagement at their concert in March, I'll be sorely disappointed. fromis_9 - Just a little section of menow but they know which song we're actually here for - Jesus Christ, Attitude has power over me like no other song does. Lee Youngji - Is Fire an unreleased song? I haven't been able to find it outside the performances at the year end shows of KBS and MBC. - I need this song on Spotify yesterday! Amazing vocals! - And then she just casually murders the beat on Witch. Okay then - Sistar19 is only the sub unit of Hyolyn and Bora. Sistar as a complete group of four also had Soyou and Dasom. Collab Stages - I have no idea what took MBC so long to upload this one. The Yujin-Youngji stage only just now came out as part of this compilation. But it never received its own individual upload like the other collabs did. - „No matter gay, straight, or bi / Lesbian, transgender life / I'm on the right track, baby / I was born to survive“ SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK. - There was another performance from Dynamicduo with the songs AEAO and MSG right before Smoke. But because Born this Way is only available in this compilation, stuff is a bit out of order here. - Soyeon in pure rapper mode, let's fucking go! - And the Yeji-Hyunjin stage actually came way later in the show. After Day6. - Studio Choom haven't done an Artist of the Month in over two years! What gives? - Play with Fire indeed. The whole stage is burning from Hyunjin's sheer presence! - Dragon twins! 🐉 Neo doing Christmas on New Year's Eve - It always feels a bit to hear a Christmas song after Christmas is over. Granted, Be There For Me is not explicitly a Christmas song but you know what I mean. The vibe is there. Paul Kim X Miyeon - Their voices are great but the song isn't really my vibe. - I don't know where you would have heard this. This is Paul's own original song and afaik this is your first time seeing him. SKZ Danceracha - More first gen representation! This is White Love by TURBO. - felix wtf - This performance actually came first. So it was cute bunny Hyunjin that got possessed by a dance demon later on. - I really want to go and listen to first gen Kpop now :D HYOYEON X BEBE - I fucking love this song. - It's like you say. A true collab between singer and dance crew. Both parties being equally important to this whole performance. I love this so much. TBZ Q, Juyeon, Sunwoo - Original song by Dominic Fike. - Always love me a good dance cover of a western pop song 👌🏻 IVE - Baddie rock remix let's go! - Yo where the FUCK is Dreamcatcher at this show? I NEED EVEN MORE ROCK. - Honestly, this Baddie remix is one of the best rock versions of a Kpop song I've heard. - Turning Kitsch into a rock song is also a vast improvement! - Even with the scenery and outfit change for I Am, we're keeping the rock vibe. Amazing! - But if you think that rock goes crazy here, just WAIT until you see the Golden Disc Awards 🤠 aespa - You know with how much GoT hyped up winter, when it actually arrived in the final seasons of the show, it was quite the let down. Good thing we have aespa to redeem the glory of Winter's name! - God damn, this dance break transition from Trick or Trick to Drama - It's not perfect but I would still say that MBC had the third best camera work after MMA and GDA. I really like the wild drone shots. - This is why I warned you about motion sickness in the DMs. - But seriously, when MBC gets the camera work right, they get it SO DAMN RIGHT. ITZY - Very nice to hear Bet On Me. I appreciate the change from the usual Kill Shot + Cake combo. ATEEZ - Space Captain Wooyoung? - Sexy, intense, silly, seductive, fun, aggressive, hype. In other words, just another Thursday for Ateez. - I just recently did a full re-listen to their entire discography in order. To rank all of their songs. But what I really took away from it is just how much I fucking love them and their music. (If anyone is interested, my top 5 are Halazia, Cyberpunk, Take Me Home, Silver Light and Inception. Yes, I am biased towards synthwave) (G)I-DLE - Proper Barbie outfits! - Yes, as great as Queencard is, I wish they had switched it up for at least one of these shows. No matter how much I like a song, I can only listen to it so many times before it gets old. - I do appreciate this remix tho. It's so lowkey the entire time until the outro where they bring the original enery back. Quite refreshing imo YEA BOIIII - head empty, only wide trousers - baggybaggybaggybaggybaggybaggyjeans - This song is an appreciation of ALL baggy jeans. Brands are to be irrelevant. The only factor is baggyness. Young K & DAY6 - From what I've heard this is Day6's first live performance in years. And their first performance as four after Jae's departure from the band. - No, Time of Our Life is indeed a Day6 song. You heard it covered on Queendom Puzzle. - Well, Young K actually had a performance with Xdinary Heroes at the KBS show. But like I already said, those performances aren't on Youtube. I can only offer you a link to the full show and time stamps. - For some reason Time of Our Life gives me huge nostalgia. It just reminds me of anime I used to watch as a kid. Pokémon and stuff like that. Yoon Sang X RIIZE - Yet another S.E.S. song covered here. - On top of being Anton's dad, Yoon Sang is a composer, record producer, singer, songwriter and contemporary music professor at Sungshin Women's University. And he looks exactly like Bill Nighy 😂 ZEROBASEONE - Yup, the next three performances are on a completely different stage outside for some reason. - Of course, ZB1 seems like a very good reason to close some roads, don't you think? ENHYPEN - Orange Flower is so good. Very happy to hear it here! THE BOYZ - It's the same thing again. I adore Watch It but I wish we also got a performance of Roar at one of these shows. - Though the guitar is making a pretty good argument here - Please let this rock remix trend never end! Stray Kids - This is what I appreciate about Stray Kids. They switch up which songs they perform at every show. - Love the set btw! - THE TIGER IS HERE 🐅🐅🐅 - This is automatically the best Topline performance because Tiger JK is actually here in person. - Lalalala Rock Version means live band of course. - Damn. NCT - I like how we're starting with the soft side of NCT, only to go insane later. Showing the range of this group in just a few songs. - How convenient that everyone in the audience just happens to have an NCT lightstick :D - Rap lines going crazy on the Skyscraper - The absolute fucking hype energy of this group. SHINee - „I think you like me“ I don't just like you, I love you! - Juice is one the few songs I never get tired of, no matter how often I hear it. - Those little extra drums for just that extra bit of flair Lee Juck with all performers - Lee Juck is a singer and composer active since 1995. I don't know much about him but from everyone's reactions when he came on stage, he seems to be highly respected. - WAIT HOW TINY IS EUNBI? OR HOW TALL IS YOUNGJI? WHAT - I looked it up. Eunbi is 158. AND LEE YOUNGJI THE GIANT IS 176. SHE ABSOLUTELY TOWERS OVER ME. WHAT THE FUCK. Honestly, Youngji is taller than all the female idols who are famous for being tall. Aisha from Everglow, Riina and Yel from H1-Key, Xinyu from tripleS, Yoon from Stayc, Yujin and Wonyoung from IVE, etc. Youngji towers over all of them. Yes, the spinning drone camera was a bit controversial. I liked it but I understand why some people weren't into it. But the show overall was great! It's my third favourite of this award season. the musical shows at the end and beginning of the year are eagerly awaited for their collaborations. and I find that this year has been quite poor in terms of collaborations in previous shows. but this show was very good. the 2 most anticipated collabs were of course Dynamic duo and Soyeon given the popularity of the songs and the duo Yujin x Youngji very popular since Earth arcade. here are my highlights of the show - the collabs - musical production and arrangements - camera work and sets -Fromis 9, Kep1er, STAYC for their captivating, charming and bright side of their concept and performance - IVE an essential group who constantly change their performance and their arrangements (definitely one of my favorite groups since their beginnings) everyone is always very attractive about them. their outfit, the set, the accessories, the dances and their voices. -Yujin (Ive) that I find these outfits more and more beautiful, especially the last one during I'am's performance made my eyes pop out of my head like a cartoon character. - Aespa, (G)Idle has their best, always top tier performance -Ateez, The boys, SKZ all incredible performers who are only surpassed by very rare groups -SHINee the kings of the stage if I had to choose a performance for each gender I would say that once again IVE for women and SHINee for men performed the best for me. ​
