congratulation to Stray kids and Blackpink for winning VMA awards . SKZ got finally world recognition and it's well deserved the new gen BG are finally on top even surpassing BTS albums sales . and Blackpink made history again after winning 2 awards and own the awards of best groups of the year after 5 years of BTS domination . again congrats to both of them . SKZ is phenomenal .

- Thanks for reminding me why I don't have Twitter 👍 - TXT's performances at these award shows are always so good and entertaining. But I've gotta be honest that I wished that Anitta wasn't part of it 😬 - Great explanation about "inspired by MJ" - I liked SKZ performance, especially the bridge and last chorus. - Yeah, some "fans" man 🫣 I always try to focus on the positive, like you pointed out about Changbin and Yeonjung. Same with Aespa attending BP concert, or all these dance challenges (1 of the few trends I do like). Sure I see those articles too about Lisa's contract, or ARMY throwing a tantrum over V's song not being in the right (Spotify) playlist or something, or Jennie going "viral" because she didn't dance energetically enough, etc. But I simply skip those, don't pay attention to them. I often feel kinda sad for the writers and the people responsible. Not worth my time.

I was pleased to see the awards get spread out like that. Even though my kpop involvement is minimal, I'm a fan of the genre' and this is much better for it than one group/artist sweeping everything. Awards are a nice recognition of your work, but they don't mean that you're "the best" because that's a personal decision based on your own musical preferences. It is nice that a girl group is breaking into traditionally guy group territory, and it's great that more guy groups are getting recognition, and it's nice that kpop is competing with Western artists/groups and winning, because it shows a much wider acceptance of kpop.

The funny thing about the skz win is the audio dropped out and noone in the venue could hear who was announced as winner. Some stays in the audience could barely hear s-class playing and saw the camera pointed at them, so they started screaming and that tipped off SKZ, which prompted Chan to ask with gestures, "Us? We won?" I hope the audience heard their acceptance speech!

I was there. I can confirm we heard the speech. It really was just the announcement that got drowned out. ☺️
