the poor fell on crooks. find an apartment in seoul is very easy. - no need for a guarantor, employment contract or proof. most landlords ask for a deposit and rent. for university districts like Yeungnam, Sungkyunkwan, Hongik, Hanyang etc... you can find a 20 square meter for 200 dollars per month and a deposit of 1000 dollars. I live in Euljiro a little quarter in Seoul and I pay 350 dollars for a 50 m with mezzanine. So you can find an apartment very easily in Seoul, which is what makes it a popular city.

fabrice maire

that's why you always have to have already found an apartment before leaving for Seoul. because even if we can find an apartment at the last minute, there is a good chance that we will come across a bone or a crook

- First time I'm watching a show with you that's also completely new to me! Normally my first watch of a Kdrama is through the reactions of Form of Therapy. But sadly their old archive including their reactions to Strangers from Hell has been lost because Vimeo decided to be a bunch of assholes. - The religions are fictitious too? Damn, when you have to include THAT disclaimer, some shit is about to go down. There are already some really fucked up cults out there in the real world. Let's see what this show brings. - Did Hereditary make you laugh too? I'm pretty resilient when it comes to horror but that movie fucked me up. - Ooh, Train to Busan and Parasite are excellent movies and absolute musts for Korean cinema. I'd be down for some movie reactions :) - Interesting, the subs also convert the currency. I'm guessing in Korean he actually offers to fix the laptop for 180,000 Won. - I once broke my phone's charging port. I probably could have gotten it fixed but I just took the opportunity to upgrade to a new phone. Seeing as it was already a 6 year old model at the time. - 550 for a room this small? Fuckin hell, I pay less than that for an apartment three times the size. - Oh so he's moving to hell, got it. - I actually have the problem that I live so far out at the edge of my city that most restaurants don't cover my area for delivery. And most of the ones that do have really high minimum order amounts. I can't even get proper sushi unless I pay at least 30€. - You know, for a very temporary solution, I guess it's kind of okay? I wouldn't want to spend any more time than absolutely necessary. But what can you do if it's the only option you can afford? - What a lively bunch that's living here. - Wow, this really is a prison cell. - If people die on this show, I hope that prick is one of the first ones to go. - Also, the actor looks familiar. - Looked it up, his name is Hyun Bong-sik and he's not in anything else I've seen. Guess he just looks similar to some other actor. - Honestly, even prison showers are much cleaner than this. - Nah, I don't care how cheap it is, I'm not moving to a place like that. - Dude, at least close the door if you're cutting out pictures like that. - It's the FIRST episode and he's already going to the forbidden floor. - Our main character is called Jong-woo? Damn, things have really gotten rough for him after Boys Planet. - YUN JONG-WOO? ARE YOU FUCKING WITH ME? So he really has the exact same name as the guy from Boys Planet. - Okay so everyone in this show is horrible, got it. - This is where I appreciate German cab drivers. Most of them are happy to talk if you want to but if you don't, they're quiet. Most of us here aren't big on small talk. It's just not in our culture. - Bring your own shower head I guess. - Dude, I have really long hair and even I don't use that much shampoo. - This guy might be an asshole but I get the feeling he's gonna be very important to Jong-woo's survival in this house. - Right, you have to censor knives on some Korean TV channels. - Two of them? - I'll be honest, I also have a bit of a problem with not asking for help when I really should. My situation is nowhere near as bad as Jong-woo's but in some aspects I can relate. - I wouldn't even be surprised if it turned out that most of the events of this show all just played out in Jong-woo's head.

2023-06-20 17:04:29 Thank you for the shoutout ❤️ I can't express how happy I am that I finally get to see your reaction to this show 🥹 I'm also a fan of short K-Dramas, nowadays these even end up being some of the best! I remember when I first watched SfH, I binged all the episodes, at night, alone in the house, lights off... let's just say it was a very bad idea and I had a few nightmares 🥲 The first episode does start off rather slow to build up the atmosphere, but it only kicks off from there 😁 I'd rather not reveal the core message of the show yet, though I can say that generally it focuses on people and how they can make your life hell, as you have seen in the first episode: a stranger who breaks your laptop and walks off without apologising, a toxic friend, an obnoxious neighbour who always has a problem with you, etc. That being said, there's a few things I thought you might like to know about the show, spoiler-free of course 😉 - It was adapted from a webtoon - Although the official title is Strangers from Hell (possibly because it sounds cooler) the more accurate translation is 'Hell is Other People', not to mention it fits more with the theme of the show and the message it portrays - K-Dramas that air on Netflix originally don't get censored, but K-Dramas like this one that originally aired on TV do have some censorship, though it works in a bit of a peculiar way 🫠 The blood doesn't get blurred, or guns, but they do blur out some grotesque/graphic injuries. They will blur out weapons such as a knife, hammer or a wrench if its covered in blood or being used to hit someone, but they might also blur out a weapon that's only being held, or it could just be harmlessly laying down. What matters is the intent - if a character is using a knife to cut some vegetables, the blade won't be blurred out. The character could later hold that same knife, but if they have violent intentions or an ominous expression, the blade will be blurred out. I just thought I should mention it so that you're not too confused if you see a blur effect that seems out of place 😅 It shouldn't affect the viewing experience too much though 😁 - And lastly, this is also a horror genre, so you might see some stupid characters - or characters that make extremely stupid choices, so you might want to yell at or punch your screen at some moments 🫠
2023-06-20 12:35:23 Thank you for the shoutout ❤️At 34:43 in the video, I'm guessing the person who added the subtitles (Ruo Xi) messed up since this is something that usually pops up all the way at the end or beginning (usually the beginning to introduce the episode), but you'll see it show up in every episode at around 30 minute mark I believe, so don't get too surprised 😅 Anyway, I can't express how happy I am that I finally get to see your reaction to this show 🥹 I'm also a fan of short K-Dramas, nowadays these even end up being some of the best! Loved your reaction to the first episode! Looking forward to the following ones ❤️

- First time watch for me. - I really don't like horrors. I looked this series up and it's classified as a Psychological Thriller. Not my fav genre but I can deal with that. - The whole vibe of this episode is definitely not for me. I was very close to giving up on it until it became somewhat interesting. - The most interesting part for me is that I want to know why so many recommended it. - Yeah, I wouldn't stay in that room for another single day. Would you? Of course not. So, naturally, I'm guessing he will stay there. These things always remind me of Eddy Murphy in his Delirious show: "Baby, this is beautiful. We got a chandelier hanging up here, it is a beautiful neighborhood. This is really nice.". Hears ghostly voice: "Get out!". "Yeah, too bad we can't stay". - Sound effects and how it's filmed is very nice though. It does very well to set the mood.

yes some chanel or produceur are still very sensitive about knife . for many years we blur in drama or show all thing than we don't want to show , that could be Tatoo , tabac , brand logo etc... . blood and knife are also most of the time blur . but now the CSA in korea allowed more thing now than drama and korean movie are on global plateform like Netflix we have less censure . some drama are even pretty trash with lot of blood .
